I got a killer deal on this top, fits great, paint is bubbling around the front, but it isnt anything I will worry about.
taking the rack off my truck brought me from 16.5mpg to 18. I am currently rocking 18.5 in town 20mpg on the highway with the topper. I know the manufactures said they help gas mileage, but I didnt expect to actually see real world gains like that.

If I do decide to get all new packs I will get the TJMs. I am trying to decide between standard weight, and Extra weight, its the difference between 1.5" lift at 220lbs over stock, or 1.5" lift with an extra 400+lbs.

My two concerns are A) I do not want to have to buy new springs for the front, and B) I do not want to have to buy new shocks for the rear.

I do have my little trailer, I dont know if its weight justifies the HD leaf springs. I have a very big trailer I use for firewood and moving my tractor, but I do neither of those things often, so I do not know if that justifies the additional unloaded height.

I'll get some pictures up once I get all the PO's stickers off the topper.

Great looking rig! I can't believe MPG's jumped that much by just adding a topper. That is amazing!

Nice. Just picked up a 2010 Fronty Crew, because my Rodeo's frame finally gave up the ghost. Gonna swap my DuraTracs over(less than 2000 miles on them).

Did you have the Tonneau cover before? Or just the open bed?

truck is ready.
Have to pack a bag and load up the fridge. (still in the backseat for now)

Sitting pretty low in the rear... I think santa is going to have to address those springs. Likely a 3 pack AAL.

Nice setup.

Yeah, looks like you need some more support.

Ill be either ordering the 3 pack or Frankenstein-ing from a donor pack.

my little babby sized nissan battery cant keep the freezer going all night and crank the truck the next morning.
I dont have room for a dual system under the hood, dont really have the $$ to run a second battery in the bed.... and one day I want 2 batteries in the trailer anyway....
so today, to get my truck back on the road, what battery do I buy?

I've often thought that converting to a Group-31 ought to be relatively easy (it's slightly larger than the stock Group-35(?) ... maybe stock is a 34 ... I don't recall offhand) and you'd pretty significantly increase reserve capacity ... or just go with the stock size but in a deep cycle AGM flavor (like a Diehard Platinum Marine). I have a buddy who went the later route and was able to go 2+ days easy on his fridge without starting up the truck to recharge off of the alternator ... anecdotal, sure, but at least a datapoint.

I'd have to second the Diehard Marine battery or even go Odyssey. Definitely a deep cycle for prolonged usage without charging. Diehards are supposedly re-badged Odyssey's and both are probably the best money can buy towards the higher end of the spectrum. Unfortunately, I have an Optima Yellow top and have read the horror stories of the newer batch of batteries. All I have to say is so far so good and its been a few months already with non issues. (Knocks on wood). If this thing takestakes a dump on me, I'm upgrading to the Diehard Platinum Marine.

new battery has been working great.

i just placed my PRG order for a 2 pack AAL. I was going to get a full TJM pack, but after shipping it was almost $450, and a 6-8 week delivery estimate.

I got a set of general grabber atIIs. I LOVE these tires. I didnt realize how shot my old tires were, and apparently they rode like hell because the ride improved greatly with the generals.

a buddy sent me a link to this, http://www.expeditionportal.com/for...ke-a-cheap-isolated-dual-battery-setup-for-50

I also got 4 deep cycle house batteries, I dont know if any of them work, I'll check those, if they are all bad I have a good yellow top

AAL pack went in without an issue.
I have put a few thousand miles on the springs and havnt had an issue.
I got adjustable camber bolts, and still have a wobble, but I believe I need to rebalance the tires.
I did not shim the rear, but I really think the wobble is from the front end, if rebalance doesnt fix it I'll grab some shims.

I am still fighting with the Dual battery, next time I am just buying everything at the store, ordering offline has proven to be a pita trying to make everything match.... I have to get a MINI add-a-circuit from the parts store today, that should be the last piece of my puzzle.

I am considering an e-bay snorkel, I cant justify 300+ on one, but for about the 150 ball park I want one.

Has anyone had any experience with knock off snorkels? I know the 80 and 100 series threads on mud are full of positive reviews, so I am not worried about quality, only fit, everything I see are for diesel D40s, I dont know how much cross over we have with our 4.0 gas engines.

I had an eBay snorkel on my D22. The quality was actually very good for the price. I've held a Safari snorkel and there wasn't that big a difference. I'd avoid the fiberglass ones, but the LLDPE ones seem to hold up quite well. It was good enough that I'm seriously considering doing the same with my D40.

The diesel Navaras have the intake in the same spot, so I'm sure it would match up pretty well.

never did get a snorkel.

but I did pull off the factory roof rack because I thought it was leaking around the bolts... it isnt. I am not sure if its the sunroof, or windshield. It has been really hard to track down because it only does it "some of the time"

I havnt finished installing my dual battery yet either, the wires are run, I have the solenoid, and I now have the correct ad-a-fuse-do/hicky to make sure the batteries are only connected while the truck is running.... I just havnt finished hooking up the battery in the bed of the truck yet.

I went ahead and ordered this rack http://www.discountramps.com/roof-cargo-rack/p/RB-1512/

it seems awesome so far. slid together and 2 bolts keep it clamped into 1 piece. I'll get it mounted this weekend, I have to figure out re-locating my awning. the rack flairs out a bit at the top, so I cant have the awning as snug to the truck as I do now. I really dont want it sticking out too far; so I have to play with that before I drill anymore holes in my cross bars.

I thought my thule coffin could be swapped around to open either driver or passenger, but thats not the case. I dont think we will need that extra storage anytime soon, especially with the trailer. But, we have been trying for a few months to make a baby and the doc visit last week confirmed we are about 8 weeks pregnant. Since I'm now thinking super long term and have to move it anyway, the awning will get relocated driver side. Which will probably result in the tent getting swapped backwards on the trailer; just so everything opens to the same side.

"recent" pictures. since I dont have enough.

"I dont need to relocate that, I dont "really" wheel, I only stay on the easy trails, I wont break it..."

after a few mornings waking up to a condensating tent, with temps in the teens, seeing this really made me want to ditch the RTT and get a truck bed camper.

I got rid of my facebook, Ill have to get those pictures uploaded somewhere else.

Its time for another transmission flush.

I usually do all my work at firestone because I have their lifetime alignment, they can change oil cheaper than I can buy it at the store. and its just convenient.
The last time I had the dealer do the flush, $220
Firestone will do it for $190 they use Kendall transmission fluid. Is that good enough, or do I need to let the dealer do it?
