We've decided to sell our 2011 INFINITI QX56, setup as a mild overlander and super comfortable, all weather daily and long distance cruiser. It has been our primary road trip car since we bought it in 2021. The 5.6L V8 is paired to a 7 speed automatic with manual shift function, and pulls like a freight train. True 4wd system with Auto (defaults to 2HI), 4HI and 4LO works great with additional Snow and Tow modes, and you can turn off the stability control too. I started pioneering a couple mods on this Y62 based platform and it was a great learning experience overall, and very fun to scratch the itch of being in mostly uncharted territory. It's a great platform, and this car came optioned with the Deluxe Touring package, which includes heated and cooled front seats, heated 2nd row captains chairs, heated windshield, mirrors and steering wheel so it is supremely comfortable year round. The factory infotainment is actually very good, with a lot of functions still controlled by buttons and includes a hard drive to store lots of music via MP3. Most of the forest service roads I've ever taken it on were listed in the map too.

A lot of the hard work is done including:
Custom tuned Falcon shock package, based around the 2.3" body shocks:
- Monotube front coilovers with King springs
- Externally adjustable rear reservoir shocks
- Lovells coil springs in the rear
SPC front upper control arms
Boos Bash plates engine, transmission and transfer case skid plate
AFE air intake with washable dry filter
JLT oil catch can
Scan gauge 2 programmed for: Coolant temp, trans temp, oil temp, intake air temp
Toyo AT3 35x11.50 R 17 (~50-60% tread remaining)
Icon Rebound 17” wheels in bronze (with matching fullsize spare)
3/4" plywood false floor anchored to the factory 3-rd row seat mounts, with additional tie-down points, and covered in bedliner
100ah Renogy lithium setup with 30a DC-DC controller and Bluetooth monitor under false floor. Has 10a solar hookup plug as well that I use for a little 60w folding panel. It run a 60+L dual zone fridge off of battery and solar for over a week without turning the car on according to my testimation.
Have owned since 150k miles, currently around 175k. Lots of maintenance done:
All fluids flushed and current
Radiator replaced with Denso
Replaced starter
Battery replaced with Group 27 AGM
Only M1 synthetic oil changes
Powerstop Z36 brakes and rotors

Pros:
- 400+ hp stock. It's a total rocket ship, even with a trailer. You’ll be passing Tacomas and 4Runners with twice the trailer they’re pulling, and easily dusting Sprinters.
- Surprisingly good mileage for what it is, I can get 16-17 on the highway; average 12 around town which is better than the GX470 it replaced
- Silly amounts of ground clearance.
- Drives like a dream, the IRS setup is actually really capable and stable on or off road. It blows the Stage 9 equipped GX470 it replaced out of the water.
- Absolutely huge second row, you could easily carry 4x dudes over 6’ in total comfort.
- Cosmetically, she’s a 6-7. Looks like it was a So-cal/central valley soccer mom car before I bought it so it has some bumper dings, paint scuffs and light scratches etc. No rust, and nothing that affects daily function or weather handling.
- Most of the paint is in good shape. Clear coat on the roof is failing, I tried to fix the worst of it, but it will need repaint or a wrap if you are a perfectionist.
- Tear in the drivers seat leather and wear on some of the touch surfaces. The cream colored leather shows wear easier than darker colors but still cleans up nicely.
- Steering rack input seal has a minor weep
- Front CVs could stand to be replaced (I was holding out for an M205 swap to do everything, including the rack but plans have changed)
