For anyone interested, it looks like a great probability that Apple will release the new MacBook Pro this coming Thursday.
It is reported to have a some pretty neat enhancements that will launch it light years ahead of the competition - or until a patent attorney finds a loop hole.
Examples of likely upgrades are a larger track pad for more complicated gestures and more detail usage and a combination of an 8 or 16 gig solid state drive to house the OS and frequently used programs (like Safari and Mail) in addition to a conventional hard drive. The SSD would make boot up nearly instant a la iPad and some program launches would be nearly precognitive. The new Sandy Bridge chipset is more power efficient and the whole kit and caboodle is likely to be 15% lighter.
