I'd have to take a closer look, but does it still allow you to easily change a headlight bulb?

Ha! probabaly not...Good thing Nisstec and I did'nt think of that before mounting it. I'll have to look at it, but if need be, you could always unbolt the compressor.

what is the limiting factor on how high you can cut the bed for the rear bumper? did you stop because of the tail lights, frame, was that just where everyone agreed it looked good, something else?

Fwiw I have 80000 hard miles on my truck and have yet to change a headlight....

I have ~115k on my Xterra ('08) and have been through at least three or four sets of bulbs ... I wouldn't see that as a major inconvenience, necessarily, to have to remove the compressor to do it; but it was the first thing that jumped out at me when I saw the location. It certainly works otherwise - or at least looks like it - so maybe just something to think about.

There is a sleeve of metal on the drivers side (other than the sheet metal you cut) that's just above the six inch mark, but really the lines would not work if you went higher than Chris did.

Nisstec apparently has mounted several in this location on Xterra's, I was the first Frontier. It looks like you can still change out the bulb with the compressor in place. There are obviously many places one could mount the compressor, in the engine bay or otherwise. As far as the engine bay mounts, I like this location the best becasue its the coolest from a temperature stand point location in the engine bay. I've seen on club frontier some mount it in the back of the engine bay against the firewall where it would get very hot. The primary reason I even got a compressor was for the locker, which will eventually get installed...

Really?? Sounds like my wife's cx7. Almost monthly one of her lights goes out. That would certainly be annoying for sure.

Looking under WKexpeditions truck when he was picking up his skids reminded me that I need to get the diff breather mod done. The process was very straight forward, however, my only concern was that the Nissan diff plug replacement fitting was slightly smaller than my 1/4" hose. I put a little duct tape around it and really clamped the hose down on it, so it should be water tight. I chose to run the breather tube up the brake line and over the frame tubing to the little hose fitting just under the bed. An Idea that I got from an old post on Club Frontier.

Finally got the passenger strut replaced at Nisstec. It had definitely blown a seal...and had more than likely been defective since it was new. It's probably why the other issues cropped up with the suspension last year. This was the final thing needing addressed before goneMoab, which is next week!
