2011+ WK2 Grand Cherokee Thread

I bought a WK2 Grand Cherokee a few months ago after owning many more traditional "expo" vehicles (Land Rover Discovery, TJ Rubicon, F350 Diesel w/ shell).

The platform is limited in "hard core" off road capability but I am excited about refining it for remote camping and travel. I expect it to perform very well in that capacity while exceeding the capabilities of my previous vehicles in my daily commute (which is 99.9% of its use... lets be honest).

There are some toys available for these vehicles including winch mounts, roof racks, small lift kits, etc. The only vendor I have found that features products for the WK2 is Rocky Road Outfitters. Does anybody know of any others?

I like the New Grands and if they can make a lift kit for it like they did for the LR3/LR4 airbags that will only make it that more capable than it is now. Never going to run the Little sluice Rubicon but like you said that not in your plans. Stay away from the RR outfitter stuff.

RR outfitters' suspension parts are not their strong point, they tend to throw together some springs with plastic spacers and call it a "lift kit". I would see if/when ARB/OME has springs out for it. I don't see it mentioned which suspension you have under it now, as the WK2 has available air bags and makes a big difference in aftermarket support.

I need this and I needed it yesterday! The Prius/Pedestrian intimidation factor is off the charts.

My GC has the standard suspension in it... not the air ride. RRO makes a spacer kit that levels the front out with the rear that is interesting but I have literally never heard anyone praise the company so I think I will save my business...

Just an update to this thread, my 2012 WK2 has been chugging along for a little over 20k now without so much as a hiccup (except for a couple nails in tires). I am really enjoying the ride and drive of this vehicle. The value this platform presents is really impressive. I drive $90k+ Range Rovers at work every day and although the Grand Cherokee is definitely not at the Range Rover level, at the $40k price point I dont think there is a better SUV option than the Jeep.

I am starting to plan out the modifications... first will be a full roof rack for the gear from Urban Offroad along with installing my fridge in the back. Then I'm going to just keep driving it... until it needs tires at which point I'll invest in a small lift/leveling kit and some all-terrains.

Gobi has been working on one for the WK2's this year. Haven't seen pics yet though.

Yup its out but as far as I know there aren't photos yet... strange right? glad to hear Gobi is that busy. I know my JK Gobi has been great. I have faith in their WK2 version
