2011 Wrangler rollout this summer

I know it's been taking a lot of flak from the Jeep community but I actually like the new, more upscale interior.

I have to admit though that the color matched hard tops are awful. Yikes! :smilies27

Anyone else think that the center air vents look like......um well... this is a PG forum, use your imagination!:Wow1:

Yep I was thinking the same thing.

But in all seriousness, if a car like interior is a priority for your automotive purchase then the Grand Cherokee is probably a better choice.

It doesn't really to seem to be screaming "Wrangler" from the drivers seat. The 12v and 110 outlets are nice addition, but the car interior is not doing it for me.

It's amazing that the only thing people want is the Pentastar or a Diesel and they are doing everything but that.

I like it, put it in a Liberty or a GC and roll with it. Its pretty, but just doesn't scream wrangler. To me a wrangler should always feel more utilitarian than the other Jeep lineup from the inside.

Though.. that was probably said when the YJ->TJ conversion happened as well.

In hindsight, when I really think about it, I have to agree with all you guys. It's a nice looking interior but I guess it doesn't fit well with the Wrangler brand.

Everyone complained about the previous interior too!

As long as it is easy to clean and not hard brittle plastic I think it is fine.

After a long camping trip and when you still have 500 miles to get home that interior and quieter ride will seem pretty nice. Proper ergonomics is a good thing.

I have done the all steel interior w/o any creature comforts and will always remember those days... my ears are still ringing :)

Just keep the manual trans!!

One thing I do like is the passenger grab handle says "SINCE 1941"

I could like the color matched tops, but only on versions with black fender flares. The Sahara is just too much with the color matched flairs.

I wish I'd had my top painted white to match...

Might get that done...

Sure as hell looks better than my XJ's interior, which looks like it was designed by Hyundai in the early 90s.

Wrangler guys will complain about everything... If it really was more "utilitarian" you'd complain that it was gimmicky.

If you want to see real utilitarian, look at a plane cockpit. They look like this. The harsh greys and nasty plastics are OUT, because they increase pilot fatigue. A nice interior is inherently utilitarian.

This one is over the top though, looks like a Grand Cherokee
