2012 Expedition Trailer - Michigan

Price: $8,000 OBO
Miles: UNK but has been on several cross country trips
Weight: Trailer weighs just over 1600 lbs
Condition: No rust, never winter-camped. Almost all-new electrical, wheels, tires, axles. Trailer has literally been rebuilt from the ground-up.

Equipment:
Custom-made multi-directional trailer hitch - was slightly leary about it before but credit to Barefoot it is very stout.
Dual Odyssey Batteries 34R-PC1500T(2020)
Redarc Dual Input 25A In-vehicle DC Battery Charger BCDC1225D - Pre-wired for Solar (2021)
Shore charging with NOCO GENIUS 5, 5A Smart Car Battery Charger, 6V and 12V Portable Automotive Charger, Battery Maintainer, Trickle Charger (2021)
Anderson SB50 Connectors for better vehicle-trailer recharging - obviously requires addition of Anderson on the vehicle end. I suspect would charge without but honestly haven't tried it.
7-pin trailer connector

Blue Sea Systems 4363 Water-Resistant Accessory Panels, 15A Circuit Breaker, 12V Socket, 2.1A Dual USB Charger (2021)

Barefoot Build-2012

Progress Build

In short, bought as my "Covid-trailer" like so many, trailer was mostly in need of some updating when I got it as it was 8 years old. After a couple camping trips the electrical system needed attention - mostly was having issues with the time it would take to charge on the 7-pin connector with 2 batteries hooked up. The new power system has worked flawlessly on several trips and battery draw is minimal (only real electronics are the fridge) even when camping in the heat of the South.

The axle was my only real beef but it never gave us issues until last year when both spindles gave up the ghost. No knock on Barefoot, but I think the original axle was installed upside down. In any case the trailer is now sitting on a brand new #3500 axle and at this point I would call the trailer complete.

I had many more projects lined up for this such as more lighting and a different awning but as with many others, needs of the family (i.e. shower and toilet) necessitated purchasing something bigger.

I am happy to post any further pictures of the trailer. My old thread doesn't capture everything as I rarely post on MUD nowadays.

I'm moving up to a Mantis
