2012+ Fuso FG (US Spec) Expedition Vehicle Platform

You may wish to find someone who owns a 2012+ truck and take an extended test drive on and off road. I have not driven a 2014/2015 FG, but the others I have driven were turd muffins at best. They are bare bones work trucks with awful interiors, power, etc., There is no comfort, convenience or economy in a new FE/FG. If you have tested one already and are happy with it, then that is your decision to make sir. If you have not, please do, so as I would not want you to presume that "newer is better" and be disappointed like I was. My research led me to keep the two trucks I have, instead of purchasing a new model.

Nothing other than the safety factor and maybe some NVH improvements are appealing on the new trucks.

I can only hope that it evolves as you suggest, but IMO it has a long way to go to be worth the asking price.

I like the form-function inherent with a Cab Over truck… pickup truck, not so much.

We have both driven a Pinzgauer on and off-road some time ago. To primitive. Have also been off-road in an FC101. Same difference. We even experienced a behind the wheel U500 (Flatbed Configuration) road test. Her vision for a U500… not so much.

I never bothered going to a Fuso dealership for a test drive. I reasoned the driving impression of an unladen FG on stock tires with factory springs would be no more informative than driving an empty U-Haul truck.

Our first experience in a professionally built Fuso based expedition vehicle was with Earth Cruiser. We were immediately surprised by the ride quality. The EC proved to be a plush riding and civilized (NVH & upgraded interior) road going vehicle. Also surprising to us, we did not mind the movement of the spring suspension seats as they did their job. More importantly, my wife (Navigator/Co-Pilot) said, “I would have no problem driving an Earth Cruiser on or off-road”.

Yes, sold on the form-function and viability of an FG based expedition vehicle and contented to be in watchful waiting mode.
