2013 F150 EcoBoost - trans vent extension?

I just picked up a 2013 EcoBoost F150. I don't do a lot of deep water crossings, but here in the muddy, rainy southeast there's always the possibility that a normal creek crossing will be higher than you expect. The front axle vent is up by the master cylinder so it's as high as the intake and should be fine. I'm planning on extending the rear axle vent up behind the taillight so that will be good. My last concern is the trans vent that's supposedly on top of the trans, I haven't hunted it down yet. The Raptors from the same years were rated for 30" of water fording but the manual on the normal truck says axle centerline max. I suspect this is just a difference in venting. Current raptors are rated for 32" and run the twin turbos so I'm not overly concerned about dunking them or the wiring for a short crossing.

Has anyone got experience extending the trans vent, or submerging the trans without extending it?

I doubt I'll ever get it that deep but if there's a simple preventative, I'd prefer to take it.

You probably have a 6R80 transmission so this maybe of some help. It appears there is a a rubber check valve that is suppose to stop water entering. It appears pressed into the trans case. You would need some type of press in fitting to connect vent hose to. I would not recommend tapping the vent hole for a threaded fitting. Maybe the suggested press in GM fitting might be of some help.

Just happened to come across this while I was researching swapping to a 10R80 Transmission. The Mustang vent tube assembly would be perfect for what you want to do. Unfortunately the video does not list a part number. Email U.S. Shift and they will give you the part number.

of course...the fact that it has a rubber flapper valve internally to keep water out means I'm probably safe for the rare unintentional dunk. I think you'd have to submarine it pretty good to get water that deep long enough to be a problem.
