**** Price lowered to $35K ****
Purchased the truck on Expedition Portal about 2 1/2 years ago. I have taken it on trips to Vermont and to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. However, my work schedule has prevented me from taking it out more, and I have 2 other vehicles (4Runner and ZR2). I’m sure the next owner will be able to use it more and appreciate the full capabilities.
Since owning the truck I have put about 5K miles on it. It has never seen salted roads since I have owned it. It has been stored in my garage and in the winters a local classic car garage in Danbury, CT.
The truck was mostly built when I purchased it, so credit to the previous owner.
Modifications I have done in the last 2 years -
- New RCI Rock Sliders ($1,150)
- New RCI Aluminum Skid Plate for Fuel Tank ($365)
- Brand new E3 Machine Billet Rear Bumper Latches ($250 each), these replaced the aging Southco latches
- TOYOTA Heritage Style Front Grill ($150)
- OEM Front Grill Surround in Black ($350 on eBay)
- OEM Headlamps - TRD Pro Model ($385 on eBay)
- Winch Roller Fairlead ($100)
- Slee Fog/Turn Signal Housings ($235)
- Rigid Industries Amber Driving Lights D Series Pro SAE ($395)
- Snorkel Sy-Klone Precleaner ($230), I have the ARB Snorkel Head, included in sale
- OEM Carpet Floor Mats - TRD Pro ($150)
Truck just returned from OK4WD where it had $1,700 in service and mods. They installed new Dobinsons Front Springs (heavy, 700Ibs) and Dobinsons 1/2” spacers. Why? I noticed it was riding a bit low in the front, so wanted to ensure it had the proper springs for the weight and proper stance. Alignment was done along with re-balance of the wheels. They also installed a stabilizer bar drop kit 1”.
2013 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab - Short Bed (Black exterior with graphite gray fabric interior)
- 4.0 liter V6 with 236 hp and 266 Ib-ft of torque
- 5 Speed Automatic Trans
- TRD Off Road Package which includes electronically controlled locking rear diff
- A-TRAC and DAC
- Outside temp gauge and compass
- 115v/400W deck mounted AC power AC outlet
- Aux jack and USB port
- Stock back-up camera relocated to back bumper, and displayed in rear-view mirror
In terms of condition, the truck is in excellent condition inside and out for its age. The vehicle has been throughly cleaned and waxed. There are some small paint chips, dings, and scratches in the paint from road trips and mild off roading. There is a small tear in the driver’s seat, about 1” in length, along the seem, from getting in and out of the truck. The ARB bumper is a little faded, and the roof molding (rubber strip) is loose on the passenger side, in the rear. There is a loose interior trim piece on the B pillar on drivers side near roof-line, by a speaker that was mounted for the CB by the first owner. I have tried to reattach but can’t and therefore a very small gap, no rattle, it’s just cosmetic.
Driver and passenger windows are tinted.
When I purchased the truck the sliders had small areas of surface rust, along with the fuel tank skid plate, I have replaced both. I think the rust was a result of bad powder coating on those pieces from RCI. The truck was located in Maryland and Virginia before I bought it.
It cruises super nice on the highway and the suspension soaks up the bumps. At 65 mph its running 2,500 rpm. I have not checked the MPG, but I’m guessing 15-16 MPG on the highway, and about 12 MPG around town. I have been using 87 octane. It has a 21.1 gallon tank.
The upgraded StopTech 6 piston front brakes work well, but you can certainly feel the extra weight that it carries.
As you can see from one of the photos, it’s low enough to fit in a standard garage, which was important to me. The truck height is 80”, so 6ft, 8 inches.
Truck has 145,400 miles on it. Last oil change was done at 141K using Royal Purple 5W-30 with Synerlec and K&N Oil Filter. Previous owner was using Royal Purple oil so I wanted to stay consistent. I had the coolant professionally flushed and replaced last summer, preventive maintenance. The truck has continued to pass Connecticut emissions testing.
No smoking and no pets.
