I have to believe that would be quite an interesting drive. Through Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico. Miracle to make that.

I drove to Costa Rica and back in the early 1990's with the Toyota pickup in my avatar.
...don't forget El Salvador.
We had some interesting interactions with the police/military in the mountains of Guatemala.
It was quite the adventure. We made it safely there and back to the states...the border crossings are the tough part, not to mention evading the banditos (drive during the daylight hours).
