2015 Ford F150

I like the looks
I just hope they figured out the Galvanic reaction problems they had in the 80's

Steel on aluminum don't mix.
The Granada, LTD and Grand Marquis all had aluminum bumpers that over time reacted with the steel mounts.

The aluminum will still corrode with water and road salt...will it not?
Look at aluminum wheels after they have been on the road for a while.

It will discolor and pit, but won't rot away as quickly like steel does.

ahh...east tn 81 beat me to it

Wonder how long before the aluminum cabs start to crack at the stress points?

I'm not usually much of a Ford Truck guy, but this thing is truly awesome. The 700 lb weight loss from aluminum was brilliant, I really like the looks and the interior, and the capability should be superb. If I'm ever in the market for a full-sized truck, one of these may be the ticket. (Though I love all the trucks from the Big Three right now)

It's funny but every article on this talks about the HUGE risk Ford is taking by going to aluminum. The only real risk I see is that grumpy old men set in their ways will be upset. Everything else is all positive.

I was locking in on a new Ram 1500 but I just did an about face with this one. Probably wait a year or so but this is where I'm heading.

So, when all the others switch to aluminum for their next generation trucks in a few years, will Ford then go to carbon fiber? That'll really piss off the old timers.

My ownership history with Fords has been a mix of extremes. Horrible = 1998 Ford Explorer and Great = E350 with 6.0psd.

I like the technology in the f150s and think they are stressing the right characteristics. There have been problems with the EB 3.5l on water condensation in the IC when accelerating in humid or wet conditions. Be interesting to see if they have designed a new IC on this 2.7l EB motor.

It is a good time to be a truck buyer.

I have to agree with you my father has always been the type that grumbles when the new F150 comes out. Then after a year or so he falls in love with all the new benefits. I love this new truck cannot wait to see them at the dealerships.
