2015 (USA) / 2016 (NZ) AEV Brute Double Cab Build Thread

I've been considering the same setup, so very interested to see what you mount to this, and how it works out.

I plan on having mounts for:

• an action cam front and center, facing forward
• two Garmin Rino 650, might reduce to one. My wife and I each have one and while on club runs UHF CB is used and the PRS Freqs in NZ include the band
• Yaesu VX-8DR
• x-grips for both our iPhones


Also bought a couple of the triple magnet RAM bases as well which may hold strong to bumpers etc at low off road speeds and will make great mounts for action cams.

sort of what I was assuming, it just seems like a huge thing unless you're planning on mounting basically everything you carry to your dash

They make a 'stubby' version too.

The RAM mounts attached to these make for a really solid mount while off roading. We've had the suction cups or other flimsy mounts fail when off road.

I am using the "stubby" version-ram mounts for phone, tablet, and DeLorme Inreach. Works great and keeps my wife too busy to panic when I do something stupid.

Attached the RAM mounts on the JKE Dock. Very reconfigurable based on the trip. Holds phones, UHF Radio, CB, and action camera. Tucked up against the A-pillars or behind steering wheel so it doesn't impact airbag etc.
