Be sure to let us know if you are making OSO so we know whether to look for you or not. As long as you have the basics you will be fine, high Sierras back up fan, sliders, rear traction aid, reasonable tires....
Nothing like sitting around camp wondering where someone is.

I can bring a chainsaw, if that's ok. How does California feel about chainsaws cutting up logs for fire wood? I at least assume that's why you asked.

I don't really know the laws or really care for them lol, I've done it before..I was just asking since I heard there were a lot of trees on this road..

I have never brought a chainsaw. Ok, maybe on some early season mtn rides decades ago. There is no rule against it, then again I have never gotten one of those ridiculous fire permits either. I have thought about starting to take one to Silverton on the 4th because there is so little firewood. The biggest issue with a chain saw is they stink. So you have to put it on the roof rack or something. Certainly would make firewood gathering a breeze as there is always lots of larger downed trees.
