Hey everyone,

I’m new here and excited to see everyone’s builds and learn as much as possible. Figured I’d start off by sharing my build in progress!

The truck:

2017 F250 6.7 Diesel Crew Cab Short Bed
Manual Shift 4x4 w/manual locking hubs
Electronic locking rear
Crank windows and manual locks (wanted this)
Upfitters
Skid Plates
Vinyl Floor

Mods:

-4.5” full Carli lift (with fabbed arms and track bar)
-King 2.5 resi shocks
-Full Deavers
-Custom coated Methods 17x8.5 -4.75” BS
-40x13.50r17 Toyo MT’s
-Amp Xl steps
-All of the bolt on and electronic performance mods, quite a monster for stock fuel and turbo...compared to my old 7.3.

Yet to be installed or ordered:
-ARB on board air compressor (sitting in the garage.)
-Swing arm rear tire mount and generator mount if I go with a slide in
-Carli long travel bags when available for the 17’s
-Possibly glass fenders and 42’s
-Rogue front bumper

Feel free to ask questions about the truck, a lot of research went into getting the right suspension set up for my wants, was the first stock fendered alumiduty with a small lift on 40’s that I know of. Hopefully almost done with the truck portion and then onto the camper portion of the build.

Excited to make friends with the experienced enthusiasts here!

P.s a little about me: I have quite a bit of time off every year, I’m a ship pilot and mate.I generally take about 4-6 months off each year, longest stretch is from mid January to start of April every year.

I’m unsure of what style camper to go with, whether I want an FWC or ATC slide in or flatbed, but since joining here I’m really digging a few of the pop up truck camper shells. Hallmark is out, truck will see too rough of terrain for the weight. I really enjoy heading out to Moab and other Utah destinations as well as Colorado. I travel quite a bit during my time off, at least 10-15k miles of road tripping a year and sometimes that many in a single trip 1-2 month trip...48 states down!

Also sorry if getting the pic thing down takes me a bit.

Goodness gracious! She’s a beast! Nice rig, bud! Welcome aboard.

What MPG are you seeing with 40s and the “weight loss” that’s been done?

Thanks, I appreciate it!

To tell you the truth I don’t know. The day the lift was finished I had to fly out for work and I’ve been gone the last two months, underway.

I do know that before the weight loss and stock tire at under 60mph it got 20.5 and 70-80 it got 16.5. After the weight loss and on kill I saw 22/18.5.

I imagine it’s going to be around 14.5-16.5 but I don’t really mind as long as it’s over 7, hahaha.

I remember when this truck made waves on the Alumiduty @IG page. I love wheels, looking forward to seeing your build grow.

Curious why you wanted manual windows and door locks. I couldn't live without the power doors and windows. I travel alone most of the time and when I arrive at a fishing spot I can adjust the windows and lock all the doors from the driver's seat. Used to be a PITA to go around and do it manually. Never had a failure with any of the systems.

Nice truck, BTW.

Super slick rig. You can't go wrong with Carli. I am actually moving from my Icon kit to the Carli 4.5" 2.5 pintop kit with the long travel airbags.

Nice truck, good to see you do it right and go carli, I noticed you are now wanting 42’s, what’s wrong with 40’s? I personally would stick with something you can order in a pinch if need be, yeah 40’s are hard to come by in remote areas but 42’s would be even harder to get, just my opinion. I would be scraping those gears in a hurry for some 4:56,give nitro a call.

Excellent looking truck! nice work
For your camper question, I vote flatbed with side storage and a camper!
Kinda sorta like this:

But maybe with one of these flatbeds:

Haha, yea it took off. George @ 8lug asked for some pics the day the lift was finished and then boom...it was everywhere. I don’t really use IG much, but I had a million messages .

Ehh, sometimes I just like the basics. The truck I grew up driving and still own was a no option cclb. Just kinda like it, but it does embarrass me at times! You should see people’s faces when I’m hand cranking my window down in a truck that obviously has a few dollars in it. Oddly enough the only door lock in my life I’ve ever had break is the rear passenger one on the 17’.

Super impressed with the Carli quality, ride, and customer service. Sure it was a lot of money, but worth it. What year truck do you have?

I kinda like the idea of running something a little different and the ground clearance. As I got more into this I noticed a few guys running the continentals or bfg’s. I’m happy for now though, I just have a hard time leaving well enough alone!

I really like the xp flatbed, but I’m just not set on it. Also, drives the price up quite a bit. I actually like the pop up camper shells like the habitat/Vegabond/gfc and comparable since I mostly go alone. We’ll see, might go basic might go all out.
