Again depends on your use. I was realistic and need to watch weight as the 3.7 and stock gears don't pin you to the back of the seat
I ran their steel skids on my Ranger and actually rock crawler that truck
If you routinely do stuff where it will scrap I'd go steel. No way around it really.

I agree on the skids.... even with my normal driving at the ranch I went through tall grass, hit a branch broken from a wind storm and murdered my intercooler on the F1shitty ecoboost, after that repair I spent the $280/300 on slapped on steel skids.... no more broken intercoolers.

The truck came with a weird stiff black cardboard kind of material to protect against rocks on the highway, total garbage... I have used the steel plates several times on accident and they have saved me several thousand dollars. Worth it.

Factory skids on the F150 are basically a joke. They shouldn't even be called "skid plates" The FX4 has a thin aluminum one that is basically garbage and the lower end models like my STX doesnt really have anything. At all.

I don’t plan on doing much to this truck for a while. Might get a shell at some point if I can find a good deal but will probably go with a Thule Bed rack. I’ll be needing to get some new tires soon so will get those when needed....might do a little lift to level it out.

I'm not sure what fridge or ice chest you are running, but I have the really deep center console on my F150 and I just figured out that a Jackery 500 fits perfect in there.... so now I'm running my fridge off the battery and the jackery gets juiced up when the truck is running since the center console has a 12V in the bottom of it.

Awesome thats great to know! I've always wanted a fridge but I rarely do more than one night and my Yeti keeps all my stuff cold.

Alright, up next, in no particular order, full skids from RCI (ordered due to 15% off tax sale), then some sliders from white knuckle offroad and regearing and adding a locker. Thinking of going with 4.56. Will likely do the regear and locker before adding all the extra weight because the 3.31 gearing is not ideal and it's obnoxious that I'm either at 1600 RPM or over 3k RPM. Plus I'm back working in the office now so I'm driving more.

I have a set of Baja designs XL Pro and S2s, ditch brackets from SDHQ and controller from aux switch waiting to be installed once I get some time from work, baby and wife. XL Pros will be installed on the ditch brackets and uncertain about the S2 but I know I want them to be chase lights. Thinking of mounting them on the top of the bed rail by the rear window or under the bumper. Also considering returning them and getting some flush mount S2s and mount them in the bumper. I'm worried If I mount them under the bumper I'll hit them on something and ruin them.

I'm very excited to see how you are going to mount the aux switch, I have been looking for clean switch panel setup.
Thought trying to install upfitter switches but they are unrealistically expensive for aftermarket installation.

If you have a console, there are switch panels to fit the long skinny tray between the cupholders and where the shifter is. Center Console Switch Panel for 2015+ Ford F-150 - 4x4TruckLEDs.com

That's a very viable option, but I'm going to want more than 3 switches. Does look like clean fit.

I haven't figured out where to mount it under the hood but I am going to mount the actual switches either to the left or right of the Steering column where there is a little lip, below the gauges...if that makes sense.

I got the 6 switch aux beam and it fits perfectly. If you have an overhead console there is a cool bracket you can use to mount the switch panel.

I just heard back from Pro Gear in San Diego regarding the quote for my gearing and locker. They suggested to go with an OEM E-Locker which I agreed with and they cant find one. Anywhere. Apparently they are back ordered 6-8 months.

Sooooooo if anyone has a lead on one or has suggestions on where to get one let me know!

Yes, OEM. Like the ones in the FX4...I'm not opposed to the idea of finding one from a wrecker but I would leave that to the professionals.

Another issue, which I have not confirmed myself, apparently the selection of lockers for the super 8.8 axle is very limited due to the higher spline count. Not sure if this is specific to E lockers or not but that's is what they said.
