Mustang parts should fit the carrier. I think only difference is the axles being CV and not solid if I'm making any sense?
I forget what year they went to the Super 8.8 but more enthusiast parts available for those.
Lots more options for the 9.75 to be sure, which is why I'm leaning that way for next truck, even tho in reality the super 8 is plenty for my application

After tons of calls and tons of research I finally found a locker from drivetrain america and got it ordered and it was delivered the other day. Making the appt for the regear today and will be good to go.

They gave me an RPM quote with 4.56 Gears with the 6 speed and cruising at 65 in 6th gear with my 315 tires, 1998 RPM.

Exactly what I wanted

Boom, here we go.

Got 1 set of my lights installed. Got some electrical help from my brother in law this past weekend and he made it a fun and relaxing process. Using something basic like the aux beam switch panel seems so intimidating to me but once we were done I thought it was silly I was so nervous about it.

Ditch brackets are from SDHQ and are rock solid. No movement at all. Very impressed.

Lights are Baja designs XL Pros in the driving combo beam pattern.

Controlling the lights is an aux beam 6 gang switch panel.

Pics or it didn’t happen, right??

Still need to do some fine tuning on angle and I want to see if I can get rid of some of the hood glare but man are these things sexy and sooo bright.

Still have to do my rear facing S2 lights but haven’t decided where to mount them just yet.

I know you said these are ditch lights but are they really? To me a ditch light would be pointed out perpendicular from the vehicle. These are aligned more forward so they seem to be more aligned with headlights.

lol, no. They are definitely not ditch lights. They are really big bright lights pointed forward, mounted in the ditch light location.

But since we're on the topic. I have been thinking about getting some Baja designs squadrons in amber and putting them in the ditch light location and moving the XL Pros to the front likely behind the grill or somewhere facing forward. IDK I have too many ideas and still have a bunch of parts in my garage I need to install and am about to drop some serious coin on my re gear so the XL Pros will stay for the time being because the look awesome.

Okay, I didn't know if the manufacturer called them that? My F150 has ditch lights, under the outside mirrors, but they do not throw the light far enough and I believe they turn off if you are over 5 mph. So part of the reason I asked is because I want aftermarket ditch lights on a switch for when I am traveling off-road at night.

The location is the "ditch light" location, the brackets from SDHQ are ditch light brackets. REAL ditch lights are smaller and angled at 45 degrees and pointed down.

I highly recommend the brackets from SDHQ. They are expensive but are very low profile, easy to install and rock solid.

I've got the SDHQ ditch light brackets on my PW w/ Rigid 360s and they are solid brackets for sure.

If you have those factory ditch lights, it's a simple 20 minute job to override the 6mph cutoff. No need to waste money on aftermarket unless you want something brighter.

Is that job with the wiring or forscan? I have never heard of it.

Can you post a picture of the switch panel you mounted for the lights?
You looking for where I mounted it or the actual package itself? I posted a pic of the box and what is included on post 211. I'll try to remember to snap a pic of where I mounted it when I get home if that's what you're looking for.

I havent heard of it either but It sounds like a forscan mod. I need to take a deeper dive into forscan and what it can do.

Where you mounted it in the truck is what I'm looking for, trying to make up my mind on how to do it in my F150... we have the same interior package I believe.
