RE: Trail Tool Kit

One thing I didn't see though I could have missed it, was the ratchet associated with the sockets.. Although I think the portable allen & torx is a good thing, I would include a torx socket set also. But let's not forget one of the most important kits in your jeep at all times.. the medical kit.

I applicate the effort going into these videos because we can no long take many of the extreme trail you've showcased. We'll have to resort to mild gravel roads or simple dirt roads. However I do have a suggestion on the camera angles.. it would seem you have the mounted angles set. but to whom ever is holding the camera or smart device, need to mount or attach the device to the sunvisor. Mind you, some cameras and smart phones image stabilization is better on one brand that it is on another. So you may not get the same stabilization with one camera mounted on the side of the jeep as it would be hand held inside the jeep.

I have a first aid kit under the seat, but am planning on buying another torx bit socket set for my road bag. I am looking at getting some kind of mount for my DSLR, usually my passenger holds it which is why it is bouncy.

Nice videos man! I'd recommend considering a change of camera for the POV - the CB antenna is a bit distracting lol.

Love my ACE sliders, had an overall similar setup to yours until I changed the Gobi rack out. You've got a lot of stout upgrade going on.

I am planning on going to a bumper mount, I just have to make one. Why did you get rid of your rack? I thought about getting rid of mine, but I have a lot attached to it now. However, the 2mpg drop from having it is problematic.

Best Taco Bell Ever

I decided to check out highway 1 and some other parts of the bay area before I head back to Southern California to hit up more trails and camping with friends and family. If you are ever near pacifica I recommend checking some of these spots out.

I modified my Tuffy box with a button keypad to get rid of the key. Turned out great!

More Adventures

Quatal Canyon
Over this past week I have done several trips around Southern California. Some of them were day trips while others were camping trips. I went out to Quatal Canyon for the day. This is a easy trail that offers sand washes and red clay that you can drive on. You can get lost over miles of trail in this area between Ventacopa and Pine Mountain.

Frazier Mountain Lookout

This weekend we did a camp out in the Los Padres National Forest. Before camping we went to Frazier Mtn Lock Out which is at 8000 feet. Afterwards we did some off-roading through the mountains.

There is a lot of interesting stuff on top of the Look Out

Rose Valley

The last day trip we did this weekend was to Rose Valley which is in between Ojai and Lockwood Valley on Highway 33. This area offers a nice swimming hole in the Sespe River, Waterfalls, and a very scenic drive.
Here is a picture of the swimming hole. It is deep enough that you can jump off the rocks

There is no off-roading in Rose Valley, but it is worth the trip.

CB Install

I finally got my Cobra 75 wired directly to the battery. I read on CB forums that this helps reduce squelch and increase range. If this doesn't help then I will wire to my WFRB. Anyways, I feel like I should have went VHF. Anyone else disappointed in their CB?

The mount came with the box. I ordered it on ebay it was $130.00 shipped when I bought it. It looks like the price went up. You can also type WFRB into facebook and purchase it using paypal.

Thanks for the info. I've seen the one on FB by WPRB but I don't think he has the Mount. The one on EBay looks like it's made by a different person and the quality of wires looks different. Thanks again.

This last week I decided to take the Jeep out for a day trip to Dome Springs and Dry Canyon which is located off of Lockwood Valley Road in Southern California. This trail offers sand washes, big ledges and rocks. You can make it as easy or difficult as you want, but the scenery is the most impressive part.
