I recently bought a new to me 2017 GMC Sierra Z71 with the intent of a DD and part time adventure vehicle. Though I have lurked for a while, this will be the first time I have tried to go out and make some vehicle mods. IF this vehicle goes beyond DD and Hammer Store run status it will be built for light off road/camping adventures, but would still maintain DD status. My wife has been hesitant about the camping aspect, but she has relented slightly and said that a RTT would be a good place to start which brings me to a hunt for parts. Does anyone make a low bed rack that could also incorporate bed cover? The idea would be to mount the RTT to the bed rack and then when needed the whole assembly could be lifted off the back of the truck for DD duties. It would also keep the tent with a lower COG and help maintain some semblance of aerodynamics. Any help would be appreciated.
