Hi there, how is that GoalZero setup and what's the charge rate you are getting? I've got a 1500X wired into my Truck Camper (Scout Kenai) but want to get it to charge off my truck when driving. The Link Module supports up to 750w charging rate and I'd love to get close to that as it'd be enough to boost the battery quite a bit while driving an hour or two. Struggling to figure out how to do it.

Check into Redark dc to dc chargers. Our alternators are not up to the task of charging 2 batteries. I have had the same HF 2000/4000 watt inverter in 4 of my trucks. I also have ARB fridge/freezers. When camping & using the in bed aux battery to power fridge at night, I can recharge the aux battery via inverter & battery charger while driving down the road and run the fridge on truck battery at the same time. I could use a Red arc myself but what I have works fine for us.

Great looking truck! How are you liking the Alucab? I'm considering a topper right now and weighing the Alucab against a smartcap evo.

Haven’t updated this thread much over the years, but since last time I added an alucab canopy camper, kings, a bison rear bumper, and i’m sure a lot of other things I’m not accounting for.

The canopy camper was installed last April and has made some long trips that much more enjoyable. I’ve spent 20+ nights in the camper and really enjoy it, for the size of the truck I think it’s perfect for the overland journeys I currently take.

I’m now at the stage of the build now where i’m just tweaking and enhancing things as they wear to try and make things as good as possible but don’t see any more major additions. Let me know if you have questions!

I’m in the very early planning stages of seeing about the feasibility of taking a longer 6mo-1year extended trip in the next few years. If this happens I think I would likely want more room and consider options such as a van or full size truck.

Looks good, do you find the WeBoost cell antenna to help?
To be honest, no. It maybe helps a tiny tiny bit when you need to get a message through with low signal but not enough where I would recommend it. I’ve heard some state it depends a lot how it’s installed but i have the amplifier and antenna as far away as I can in my camper, definitely could still be my error.

I have a starlink too and it is solid and has been very helpful.
