Looks like the online configuration program for the 2019 Ford Ranger will go live around August 15. There was an “accidental” appearance of the configuration for a few minutes this week. Looks like initially the Ranger will be available only with the 2.3L turbocharged four cylinder engine and 10 speed automatic transmission. It will be interesting to compare features and prices with other mid-size pickups

What's really interesting is that the 2.3 EcoBoost is available as a crate motor from Ford performance. I have been mulling over the possibility of this motor as a swap for my OBS Ford, but the transmission was always the question mark. I wanted something with a real part-time transfer case, not an AWD system. Now that this is available in a truck Ford must have adapted the 10-speed to take a T-case. Very curious on the specs on those....
