Just random update as im prepping for parts to get here.
Finished up a Revel on 35s, and took some side by side

Resetting the shop with two vans (ev3 is here soon as well)
Nice and clean now
Untitled by Grant Wilson, on Flickr

Adding mount tabs to all the framing in order to have hidden fasteners on all future interiors for a cleaner look. Not everyone is like me and likes having pretty screws. So chopped, and punched a ton of tabs

and all welded up.

ill drop them off at powdercoat and start putting it together

Flarespace flares and tern overland windows came in as well, dropping them off to paint today as well as finishing registration.

Floor is being built by my cabinet guy, 3/4 cabinet grade ply flooring for awesome screw bite and mounting.

Imho as a full-time vanlifer, the solar system you have listed (200wt &100ah) won't be able to keep up with the draw of all the listed 12v items.
Heck, not even sure mine could...
(300wt & 310ah with Victron 100/30 with BS ACR 7620 with dual 130amp alts)

If you want to be a full time vanlifer, then you can upgrade to a full time electrical setup :)

I know for a fact that 100ah of agm and 200 watts of solar can keep up with normal day to day use, including, phones, camera batteries, and speaker charging, along with laptop charging during the day
As well as 2 maxxair fans on medium at night.
24 hours cfx 75 d running as well.

However, we are 3x the capacity with the goal zero yeti 1400 with 140AH of lithium and a 40A 12v outrush to the van at any given time, which is more than enough, which i am putting into this and three other vans currently.

For a normal person, who isnt trying to use a coffee maker 3x a day, this is plenty of power coupled with 200 watts of solar, 40a of alternator charging as well.

i do have to agree, full time van life is different to just using a van for a the weekend.

its up to the individual to decide if they require more, depending on what they want out of a van, not everyone wants to pay more for something they don't need.

The best thing is that isn't hard to increase battery capacity, 100ah is ok for most weekenders and there is an option for a bigger system.

we run 240 ah lithium, as we use induction cooking, 12 volt hot water, maxx fans, diesel heater, fridge, but we have heavy power usage as we choose not to use gas cooking

totally agree.

You can do a simple system for 500 bucks. If you need more, THEN spend the 3-6,000 to do a better system. But no need to assume that is what someone needs. I build a fantastic platform to upgrade if you need to. That is my goal, to get people into a solid, 80% custom build that will last forever for 20-30,000 less than the closest quality competitor. I think i do damn well at it

Since you put it that way(weekend rig), then it's all good.
Carry on with your nice work and options.

Yeah, I do 2-4 weeks at a time on this type setup, with zero issues. I wouldnt want to full time, deal with TVs, water heaters, induction/microwave stuff on this system. I would also do much better panels and more coverage .

Trim rings came in for the Flarespace flares.
Took the old walls, and made a new template combining them, and with the trim ring, so now I can have some templates made with my CNC guy to have them around. I have three sets of vans to install currently so it works out well.

Yeah, very nice looking work. I agree about the Transit. Where I live, no one works on Sprinters. I like the vans a lot but Ford (and the Dodge) are probably more practical in my neck of the woods (rural Idaho).
