Well, I was just talking to our local BMW service manager about electronics in newer vehicles and he mentioned that if a speed sensor on later model x3 went out, the vehicle will be stuttering as in move a couple of inches and stop and move a couple of inches and stop. If this is the case, I'm sure other later model BMW behave the same way.

Yeah, that's a big if. Maybe it's true - especially in BMWs as that seems to be what he deals with, but I bet that those same BMW have the option of turning TC control off completely, thus ignoring the TC speed sensors.

I also bet that it varies not only by model but also whether it's a BMW or some other brand - depending not only on who they sourced their tech from, but also how it is programmed.

Okay, I will now watch the rest of the video JeepColorado posted.

I didn't twist his words. I see you have as much intellectual honesty as he has. I quoted his posts and responded to what he actually said. Not what he later claimed to have said.

Yes, I had a single jab at a single spelling mistake. The one where he called me a liar ("lier").
And, yes, I do care when people have so little integrity that they will claim one thing, and then immediately deny they ever said that thing. It's annoying and it is dishonest. And when they then go on to call others liars for calling them out on constantly moving the goal posts, yes, that does get my waters hot.

You continuing his dishonesty by saying that I "keep twisting his words" just shows me that maybe, just maybe, he shouldn't be alone on the ignore list.
You’re both pretty. For the love of god, please stop.

Oh FFS, just stop already. Stop trying to turn this place into DiscoWeb.

In many vehicles, due to safety and regulations, in a braking system failure, such as ABS sensor failure, the vehicle goes into limp mode, that you cannot override without a computer connected with the right software.
,
That depends on the brand.
However, I know that the old guard balks at this, but I don't think it's a problem to connect a reader and reset the thing. It is just another tool. Just like having specialised tools for some weird part on some particular vehicle.

Yeah, project some **************** when your arguments fail. Always a good look. If it were up to people like you and Red Rover, we should just take your dishonesty lying down and just update our trust in you guys whenever you changed your minds. Oh, and of course believe you when you outright lie or make false accusations.

Since when are you the arbiter of what should be on Expedition Portal? Seriously? I don't have a lot of posts, but you have about 17 the last time I looked.

Yeah, I'm beginning to suspect a sock.

LOL, do you really think "metallurgy", "intellectual dishonesty" and "arbiter" are "big fancy words"!?

Are you seriously calling me a troll? Are you projecting? I just took a look at your posting history: Three posts in three threads about Expovehicles for sale. One post in the general land rover forum spaced out in the three years from '17 to '19). The rest of your posts is in this thread. Several of them trying to dictate (also a "big" word, I take it) how we should respond to Red Rovers lies and you supporting his lies, thereby lying yourself.

Seriously, if you think those words are "big" words, you need to hit the dictionary. I'm not even a native English speaker, and I don't live in an English-speaking country. But I guess it's easier somehow to call them big words rather than admit you have been caught lying.

And, with this, yes, you have certainly joined Red Rover on my ignore list. What a waste of time, addressing being called a troll and worse - by a troll and worse.

I am saying he is a service manager at one car company. Having never owned a BMW, I don't know how those work when faults in sensors comes about.. However, I do know that they are not all fitted with the exact same systems over all models and years, and I do know that other companies integrate sensors and so on differently to one another.

I also know that the two cars (NON-BMWs) I have had with traction control that went wrong and threw up faults, that's not how it showed itself. Both of them threw errors, but the car could still be driven. One you had to force it a bit with the throttle and the other had no ill effects other than blinking lights in the dash.
