I'll tell you right now that power isn't everything and you will be happy with the Frontier. After my second Frontier I went to a 2019 Ford Ranger. Yes it was nice having the extra power, but later I went back to the Frontier and it just feels better to me. Just some food for thought

What's the axle gearing? Rear LSD or locker?

The current Frontiers are all 3.69. The Pro4X comes with electronic locking diff.

I don't recall with the final drive is for the D41 or D40 with the 9 speed. I know for the D40 with the 5 speed Pro-4X has a 3.36. Pro-4X has an E-Locker from the Factory and it can only be activated in 4LO(then again you don't want it in 4HI).

I'm going to say it's relatively close to that. That's assuming you keep it stock. Put certain modifications on there and it's going to change those modifications will include but are not limited to, bigger tires, aftermarket front bumper, lift kits, and anything that might be on the roof.

For me running a D40 with the old Powertrain I have quite a few different modifications and if I just run 87 octane I can usually see anywhere from 14 to 17 MPG depending on the conditions. With premium (91 and up) I can see anywhere from 15 to 20 MPG depending on my conditions.

I don't have to do any stop and go. My highway and suburban mpg is 22-24, towing is 15-17.

What is the factory fuel requirement for the 3.8L engine?

Hopefully 87?

To my understanding 87 is the minimum requirement, but it does like premium fuel.

Yes, it's 87. I've never used anything different and what I get usually has ethanol. I've never read anything to indicate premium does anything for the 3.8.

I need to take my daughter to go test drive one, the legroom in the backseat is the only concerning factor for her and other passengers

For a midsize truck the legroom isn't horrible. Just keep in mind that it's a mid-sized truck and not a full size truck

I just don't need a full-size truck anymore and am look for something with better fuel economy and lower miles than my Silverado (now at 120,000)......since I am traveling alot more for work
