2022 Nissan Frontier SV

After months of research and waffling I brought home a new Frontier. I’ve had a bunch of full size gas and diesel pickups and a handful of Jeep SUV’s over the years and was ready for a new truck. The redesigned Frontier looks great and offered pretty good options and pricing.

I was set on the base model (S) without the technology package, but found out the SV trim package could be found without the tech package. I like things to be simple and effective and the additional features of this tech package just weren’t for me.

I picked up the truck this past Tuesday. As soon as I got home I removed the lower air dam on the front bumper. The following day I built a cargo management system/sleeping platform in the bed. Then came a new set of 275/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks. I’ll be building a custom softopper style canopy on the bed that will support my roof rack and awning swapped over from my last Jeep.

No canopies available for these trucks yet, so I built my own. Still plenty to finish on it but this will support a roof rack with awning once complete

Been able to fit in a couple trips to the beach recently. I’m very pleased with this truck so far. Have a few more plans to get it to meet all my needs.

I’ve since added my roof rack, awning, rear 1.5” shackles and a few odds and ends. Have had the chance to get the truck out on a few day trips and am very pleased overall

5-foot bed?

Looks great.

It is the 5 foot bed. I recently picked up a DAC Explorer 2 tent. Made for a minivan but fits fine and was $50 brand new on Craigslist. With one drawer bin extended it’s a perfect bed length.

I recently picked up a Smittybilt 2781 compressor. Mounted to the deck and wired to the battery. I’m now about 10 mins to air up all corners versus the 25-30 mins it took me previously

Are you sleeping in a ground tent I assume?
How has truck been for fuel economy?
In the bed, tailgate down, however haven’t had much opportunity to get out overnight.
Fuel economy has been pretty good considering the larger heavier tires and extra weight in the bed.
