Follow-up review on the lights (with amber covers, which does reduce output some) now that I have used them extensively on a recent 6k roadtrip towing a side by side.
They are reasonably bright, and do a good job, but they do not compare to a BD LP6 or equivalent. I've had them in my garage for about 10 years now, so they are not "modern" technology lol. The price was right however, at "free".

I’m thinking about harbor freight’s knock off. They’re not in stores yet though.

What's everyone's recommendations for the best 5-6" pod light? Diode? Baja? Rigid? etc?

Also where that pic is taken should have 10 feet of snow right now.

Baja designs is good, and it's what I went with since most my other stuff is that way. But Morimoto has them all beat for output and warranty. I'd go that way if I wasn't solidly 8 sets of lights into BD.

I think Diode Dynamics is a bit too blue/white for my eyes and they get annoying after a while.

Baja LP6 is excellent.
Haven't looked into new Morimoto offerings but I've always been impressed with their products on my rigs.

Rigid is a highly durable brand that I recommend for off-road lighting. The RIGID 360-Series LED Lights are bright and include a limited lifetime warranty.

VisionX has always made some great stuff. I am solidly on the BD bandwagon for the past 7-8 years as well but I wouldn't be opposed to jumping ship to something cheaper and better on the next build.

I stuck some 100w knock off KC daylighter halogens on my truck until I find something I'm excited about. They're not any brighter than the LED's bulbs I've put in the stock highbeams. They're $12 a piece though. Hopefully they'll burn off the sticky snow that blocks off the led's.
