We originally purchased our Grit Overland GO/AT about a year and a half ago after carefully comparing many competitors.
We were taking a sabbatical from work and knew that we wanted to tour many places around North America with our dog. We were especially drawn to this van because our dog is 13.5 years old, and we knew we couldn’t take her everywhere. With its large power system, efficient A/C, and the ability to auto-start the van at high idle to charge the batteries when low, we could sometimes leave her safely in the van. We felt it was the perfect vehicle for the three of us.
After living in the van for about four months, our sabbatical is coming to an end. Now, on our last week of travel, we realize we won’t be able to use the van to its full potential, and we hate to see it just sitting in the driveway (especially since we have another adventure vehicle). So, we’ve decided to list it for sale.
For those unfamiliar with Grit Overland: they’re a small van manufacturer based outside Portland, Oregon, building RVIA-certified vans. Their products are similar to Storyteller Overland but built on the Ford chassis. The van is designed to handle rugged terrain, with an aluminum subframe that ties everything together, including aluminum-framed cabinets, keeping the structure solid and most of the weight low. It’s a great combination of convenience (with features like indoor and outdoor showers) and weight management. The GO/AT was their premium model, but they have since transitioned to the GO LINK, which they’re producing in higher volumes with fewer features.
You can find detailed specs here: https://gritoverland.com/archive-goat-all-terrain/. One of the highlights is the power system: the 48v system allows the inverter to charge at nearly 6k watts while driving, and the efficient undermount A/C frees up roof space for storage while providing dedicated vents—fantastic for traveling with a dog. The van can even auto-start and run at high idle when the battery is low, ensuring you never run out of power.
Our setup is designed for two. We added a Canyon Adventure Vans bench with plenty of storage (including space for our CAV AMT dry-flush toilet). In the rear, we installed a removable slide-out from Shuksan Vans, which includes a lockable cabinet and an extra Dometic cooler we use as a freezer—a game changer on long trips! Soft cabinets inside provide additional storage. We also DIY’d a north-south sleeping solution, which is great if you’re taller, but most people will be comfortable sleeping east-west thanks to the flares on both sides.
Our van then has a lot of off-road upgrades, from premium brands, all installed professionally by Grit including:
+ CATuned Bumper
+ Superwinch 12k winch (included TRE truck recovery kit - soft shackles, tow rope, recovery rope)
+ Lighting Package (lots of Baja Design LP6's and rear Baja Design lights controlled by a sPod)
+ Walkable Flatline Van Company safari style roof rack (with two added waterproof storage boxes)
+ Starlink high performance
+ Lockable Aluminess rear tire carrier
+ Rear Owl Vans cabinet and 1up bike rack for two bikes
+ ARB Air compressor
+ Oversized AT tires/black alloy wheels (owl vans), 2" lift, tuned Falcon adjustable rear reservoir shocks, high clearance rear shock mounts, front/rear skid plates & Sumo springs.
+ Mounts for Maxtrax
Some items within the GO/AT:
+ Go Farther Power System™ (the ultimate off-grid power solution):
Lithronics 8,448wH battery, victron 3000 watt inverter, Rapid Charging (Ultra-fast charging
from 2nd high output alternator: 1 hour to charge) - auto start the engine at high idle when battery is low or on demand to charge batteries.
+ 21 gal fresh water (with two stage guzzle h20 filters - infrared & charcoal), 18 gal heated grey water tank
+ Indoor and outdoor shower (indoor shower smartly sets up under the MaxxAir fan to vent out any steam)
+ 2 in 1 air heater & on demand Timberline water heater running off van's gas tank
+ Fiamma F45 Awning
+ Microwave
+ 48V Efficient Cruise N Comfort Air Conditioning with four vents including dog vents on the floor area - connects to starlink and is controllable via app from anywhere, also there is an ability to create schedules, run fan only, and much more.
+ Folding murphy style bed
+ Dometic CFX3 55IM fridge or freezer
+ Dometic CFX3 35 fridge or freezer
+ 2 Van Der Moon soft cabinets - a good combination of storage and weight
+ MaxxAir Deluxe fan
+ Canyon Adventure Vans Grit Bench Seating System (GBSS) with AMT Dry Flush toilet
+ Shuskan Vans Modular Cabinet System
+ Side and rear - van essentials bug nets (rear nets feature blackout also)
+ 5 total 120v outlets - 3 internal 110v dual outlets, 1 dual outlet on the outside of the van, 1 on passenger seat which only works with the van on
+ 4 12v outlets in cabin, 2 in driving area
+ Roamrest Mattress
The van has also had a full ceramic tint.
Over 240k into the van (I have invoices), asking 169k. Clean title in hand with no lien.
