That 145 with cruise master suspension is quite capable. But I agree the trailer is the base camp not a recreational toy like a mountain bike is. Huge fan of Isotherm frig. I have the 130 and it is so reliable and with temperature control very efficient.

I'm guessing rather than dragging one of the transformer type trailers up trails you will use this more like a base camp? Set up at an accessible site then do trails without the trailer?

Mostly the base camp concept. But with getting further out (away from #vanlife). Possibly pull it through some overland routes. Raptor is setup for multi-day trips and hauling bikes. Will see. Still sorting out issues / upgrades and options.

That is a neat design. Lots of great features. I don't have any interest in "exterior kitchen". Must be an Assie thing. I can cook outside with my truck and not mess with a trailer. Trailer really needs to offer significant comfort improvement to be worth the hassle.

That makes sense. Quick question. I have a aftermarket red arc brake controller on my Lexus GX. I assume you have the optional Ford Bronco specific brake controller. Would an arc controller work or do you have to use the Ford option?

Funny thing... the OEM Bronco brake controller is a rebranded RedArc Controller (exactly the same). Strangely... the Raptor has a "Tow Mode" and 7 pin trailer connector yet no brake controller (bit confusing). So we added it. Works fine. Nothing to write home about.

Ya Toyota and Lexus are similar with gx 460 and tacoma s. I like my red arc. Seems much better then the built in controler on the US Land Cruiser.

PSA- To any Bronco Rapter owners out there who are considering an Xplore X145. Please see the attached Ford Towing Chart. The x145 is likely over tounge capacity in an empty trailer let alone a loaded one. It's even more over if you keep you spare tire on the rear of the Bronco. There is not anything you can do to change the 450 pound tounge weight capacity.

Not true. And you're still wrong. We tested it. And it's spelled "tongue"

And I know the exact weights not some arbitrary numbers you discover online. Funny how you pretend to care but you don't know me. Or even care about me in the slightest.

I’m curious what the actual loaded trailer weight and tongue weight are since in almost every case they exceed manufacturer numbers by several hundred pounds minimum. What does yours weigh when put on the scale?

@montypower

I'm here because Peter keeps posting quality content, engages with others on the forum, and I've been able to use his posts to inform my own decisions.. what a novelty.

Keep on doing Peter.
That's great, but I would advise evaluating, with a critical lens, all the information you receive via the internet. As we all know, some of information is gold- others, not so much.

That said, I'm guessing a large percentage of "overland vehicles" are running over their vehicle's GVWR. Not saying that is a good practice, just my observation.

I'm a big fan of the 80% rule. Keep your loads within 80% of your vehicle's tow and GVWR ratings and you will be able to tow safe, happy, and with confidence. I absolutely love my setup. I'm pulling an X195 with a Cummins Diesel RAM 2500. I have no trouble running with the passenger car traffic, even up extended, steep grades. Even more importantly, I can also get everything safely slowed down in a reasonable distance.

Peter- Sorry for the thread hijack- safety first! ;)

Okay in regard to your trailer and trying to counter balance 150 ish pounds off the tongue. You will be rolling with a 5plus k trailer with a 450 pound tongue weight. Do you really think that will not effect sway?

Jesus this thread went off the rails. I'm here for the trailer Build + Info. Enough with all the towing vehicle discourse.

Oh no your going to tow an x 145 with a subaru. Just kidding. My last post was trailer related. I mean trailers do have to be towed right? I will back off. Hey no such thing as bad press right.

I do look forward to next post of the mods Monty... does.

LOL - are you also stomping your feet as you wrote/yelled that. ;)

Well at least you did say "please"....anxiously anticipating additional X145 info/discussion. When are we going to get to "the list"?

Something interesting happened yesterday. My bell icon was highlighted and I had four messages saying " your post has been deleted. Reason- off topic" they were four of my blunt messages about the discussion on towing this trailer. Then I went back and it did not appear like they really got deleted. My speculation is that Monty in his frustration tried to delete my posts. I believe one can delete thier own posts but not others. Who knows. I know I have a string going on my trailer and folks post talking about another trailer brand that is better in thier eyes and the string goes way off topic. It's just an EP thing. Anyway I will still lurk here as I want to see what Monty does with tongue box, spare tires on the Trailer. No interest on what is done with the apparatus that attaches to the round thing on the front tounge of the trailer.
