255/85R16 Wheel tire combo

For those running the 255/85R16 what wheels are you using how much backspace any need for spacers?

Any luck running them on stock tacoma 16" rims I just bought a set of tires and have a set of stock rims I am hoping they will work any advice?

I run them on my stock 03 TRD wheels with no issues. Donahoe/ICON coilovers in the front and Deaver 10 pack in the rear.

Only issue is some frame rub on full left turn lock on drivers side front.

I run stock 16" alloy rims that I have painted. Icon/Donahoe 2" in front and a custom 2" Alcan in back with centering pin moved forward. Some rubbing when stuffed.

I run stock alloy wheels with mine.

I run the wheelers type B (4" offset) it keeps it off the frame and the back tires are still narrow enough to tuck up into the fender wells without catching the plastic flare. I have the donahoe/T/C with Dakars in back. The Dakars moved my tire ahead just slightly so it just brushes the forward part of the fender.

I am running them on my '05 QC with stock TRD rims. OME 886 w/bull bar and winch up front and Dakar springs in the rear. Minor rub on the frame and UCA at full lock. Not enough to be annoying yet so I haven't bothered with spacers yet.

Ive run both the Cooper Discoverer ST and the BFG mud, on stock toyota rims with no problems at all. No rub.
I got 40,000+ out of the Coopers but the BFGs are wearing a bit faster.
the Coopers are snow studdable witch is nice.
They are quiter and the side walls are stiffer witch rides better on road.
The BFGs are really solid off road just not the greatest on road ride quality, even long dirt road driving I'd preffer the Coopers. Either tire is great though no worries

Thanks all I thought they would work but it is nice to know others are having success. Hopefully I'll get them on within the next few days. :)

WOW - just my luck to have the opposite problem - my UCAs have a nice polished area requiring I order some spacers. It is worse, obviously, when I am carrying a load - now with the HEAVY ladder rack and some times the RTT and no sway bar, I notice it MUCH more. Odd thing is that when going slow there is no problem, but add just a little forward movement - rub city baby!

So do the OME dakar rear springs move the center pin forward or do you have to custom order it that way?

That is a bummer! I haven't had any problems with mine at all... I guess you could try some 1 inch spacers?

I just ordered a front set of .25" spacers. Hopefully this be just enough to clear the a-arm. It was only $28 for the spacers and shipping so here's hoping they work!

Installed the .25 spacers and -Oh, what a feeling! It moved the tires out just enough to regain full steering lock left and right with no rubbing! Even without the sway bar the articulation is somewhat limited, but I can fully flex what I have with no issues. So far, this seems to be a good, inexpensive solution for regaining factory steering and recapturing needed tire clearance. Chains will be the next test - I am going to get a set of Rudd's from Bill Burke and hopefully they will clear the fender edges.

IIRC wheel spacers are illegal in the state of Utah(probably others as well), unless they serve the function of a wheel/lug adapter.

Nevertheless, I ran 1/2 spacers on my '85 4runner.. Only had an issue once w/ a safety inspection.
