26-Second Tent (Tepui?) - any experience/feedback?

I'm contemplating tent alternatives, nothing pressing, and came across this.

Anyone have any direct experience? Feedback and experiences (good or bad) would be appreciated, thx.

Well....I suppose I did ask for feedback :)

So, yes actual setup/take down times aren't accurately reflected in any of the "X-second" claims for any of these products; yes, this is obviously an OzTent ripoff/clone; yes, the price point probably implies this isn't manufactured to the same tolerances and qualify of OzTent but what do I know?....

I am interested in updates from anyone who's used or preferably owned one of these. Wondering how they stand up to wind loads once staked down, any leaks experienced in real rain conditions, any quality problems after numerous setup/take down/storage cycles, etc.

Last, the emblem on the side of the tent almost looks like Tepui or are my eyes that bad?

thx!

Those are helpful, thx!!! I'll scan those and hope to come across some owner feedback specifically in the areas of durability (over time) and whether it's remained water-tight (assuming it's been cared for). thx again.... :)

My Annex room on my Tepui RTT, leaks like crazy in heavy rain. I'm curious if this leaks as well. The construction looks similiar to the annex. My RTT does not leak even in heavy rain.

Just sharing my findings in case this helps anyone else, fact-finding efforts here only:

  1. This was really useful as I am contemplating the same (disc-o-bed cot for my kids) - guess it doesn't fit.....reads as though the original owner sold his, presumably for this reason (?)
  2. CVT's same tent (design at least, can't comment if its the same manufacturer overseas or not, mention here of rain being an issue...
  3. CVT's same tent - their FB page - last updated 3 years ago, doesn't appear to be in their catalog/inventory any longer
  4. Tepui's website doesn't show this tent, only offered on the Top-Tent site and they don't specifically mention Tepui as the manufacturer, read into that what you will.....
  5. CVT has two videos at the bottom here that both hit their Black Butte (seemingly identical to the Tepui 26-second item I started us out with....) - nice to see the human touch direct from the OEM, useful walk-thrus

My $.02 (pushing past fact-finding):
  1. I've no interest in the awning attachment as featured with both the Tepui and CVT - inconvenient (I like to jump in my FJ80 and head out and the notion of attaching/detaching this thing from my vehicle's awning is....a turn-off) and presumably designed this way recognizing a standalone awning attachment might simply introduce more strain on the stability of the tent itself in windy conditions.
  2. Neither the CVT nor the Tepui seem to remain in active inventory from the OEMs (to be fair, doubtful either were ever manufactured domestically but no point going down that hole...)
  3. Can't find a ton of community feedback whether via posts shared above (thx again 0210!) or otherwise....
  4. Floor size might not be conducive for my intentions - I'm a cot guy, so is my brother who I hunt with, and it appears consideration of a FS Disc-O-Bed is out with these models.

While I think I do like the style of this tent, the size doesn't meet my needs therefore pushing me over to a larger OzTent model (which obviously has a lot of fervent and active supporters). Full staking, etc. are still required, need level ground but eliminating traditional tent poles, rolling a traditional tent back into its storage bag, etc. is all very appealing.

I'm still noodling some of the other "quick setup" styles and on the other extreme am also contemplating a Jumping Jack trailer might be exactly what I'm after (TBD). This was useful for me to learn a bit more quickly about this Tepui (and its seemingly identical CVT counterpart) so thanks again for some quick inputs here but I'm moving past this product (just not suited for me....).

thx!

That is actually this

And Ive been using mine as a standalone tent for 2 years now, it's really awesome to be able to stand up fully inside to change clothes, lol. Haven't been in much rain but a light sprinkle, once and it was fine. Not very wind resistant, as you can hopefully imagine but it did hold up for one night, just this last weekend, with the back angled into the wind enduring mid 20mph gusts. Though I did call the trip early after that first night as WX was reporting the same for the next night with gusts up to 35mph and didn't really wanna find out the actual limits.

Thx for the feedback here, good to hear from an owner. My recent elk hunt ~3 weeks ago, we sat through 3 straight days of 40+ mph winds (as low as 20 mph, got well above that for extended periods during that period). Sleeping in my "cheap" Coleman tent, the tent was routinely bent over and hitting my brother and I in the face while trying to sleep - not fun. It never came unsettled (staked down well and heavy cots inside kept it planted) but it was not pleasant.

I hope my personal findings/thoughts or other inputs here don't dissuade others from considering this tent. Not my intent, just wanted to learn more about this (and unintentionally its identical CVX companion) product. Better understanding its size/form-factor, stability in wind a wet-weather performance were obviously important to me.

thx again!

both mentioned are in consideration (i really am trying to go "nimble" because we do move base camp a bit so setup/take down times are also part of the calculus.....i'm admittedly being a bit more picky than is possibly useful)

camping in inclement weather, never a first choice but when you get drawn for an elk tag, the when/where we camp aren't entirely up to me :)

After that wind, I'm debating on add a few more tie downs elsewhere on the tent. If I can secure the upper part more than just the 2 forward ropes (perhaps adding 2 to the front side for a total of 4) and then add a couple more at the "mid beam" toward the back and sides then I think it would have been a lot more secure.
