275/85r16 Petition

If you think a 275/85r16 would be a great tire size, would you please consider signing the petition here? No one tire manufacturer currently is making this size. There have been conversations on this board as well as others about this size. Rumors have also circulated about this size (some have been my own rumors after I thought I had some information ) from a number of mfg's; alas nothing is forthcoming to my knowledge.

It ends up being about a 34.5x10.50r16 which IMO is a good step up from a 255/85r16 for a larger wagon and for full-size trucks and anyone else wanting to step it up just a notch without having to go a full 35". It's also a great step towards the venerable 9.00r16 size which we all'd love but can't either obtain or realistically run.

Also mind if I post this over at Rubicon owners forum? Lots of us over there love the skinny tires and are dissatisfied with the small selection of 35ish" skinnies.

I did my small part by signing. I would love to see the size produced though I think it will take several thousand signatures to even be a blip on the radar for a tire manufacturer.

I was actually looking for a couple hundred. Petitions don't really do anything, but I had a communication's line with someone to whom I could present it. I'm suprised only 34 people (currently) think it'd be a good size. Maybe the tire companies really are right in that all off-road tires will solely be for looks soon.

I applaud your efforts and wish more people would 'see the light' of a tall and narrower tire, instead of the big, fat "meats" that are the rage. Increasingly these big, wide tires have very short sidewalls. Instead of going up in aspect ratio they continue to go flat, well below 75%. What a mess...
