Combined, the inner and outer weatherstrips were about $150 per door. (A bit more than I would have hoped, but worth it)
This was a similar complaint in the ford Rangers for years. Initially the extended cabs didn't have rear doors. As soon as they started having opening rear doors the trucks started squeaking more due to the extra flexing.
I can't say for sure, but I think Ford knew the North American Ranger was destined for the scrap heap so the access cab configuration was a modification of the original cab. It probably removed some of the cab stiffness being that the extended cab was never meant to have the 'B' pillar removed. The 2nd gen Tacoma always had the suicide doors so I'd have assumed Toyota would have designed the cab to work with them from the get-go. As Plannerman may have found out, that might be the case but they may assume too much about the seals.But I wouldn't be surprised if some of the noise is inherent due to the design.
