We've done Crown King a couple times. Great trail and I would highly suggest running it in the day sometime. The saloon at the end is a blessing since the last 1/3 of the trail can really beat you up.
We belong to the Land Rover group and do a lot of trails in and around the PHX area all the time if you ever want a heads up on a trail up this way.
I'm sure you have it, but the AZ off road guide by Wells is an awesome resource.

I would recommend going during the day sometime, it's awesome.
If you ever want any trail help up in the PHX area, hit me up. We go out all the time by ourselves and with our Land Rover group.
I have used the AZ backcrountry guide by Wells and it's a great guide. I'm sure you already have it.
