34"(ish) A/T tire recommendation for Super Duty DRW application (?)

Hi all,

I'm looking for narrow(ish) 33-34"ish tire recommendations for my Patina Rod build (HERE), which is based on a 2008 F350 Super Duty dually chassis cab frame/chassis with OEM 17" x 6.5" steel DRW wheels. The truck will eventually be used for longer-distance travel, which will include camping and some light/moderate expedition. It'll also serve as a bug-out vehicle (BOV). It won't be driven in the winter, so snow/ice traction is irrelevant.

I have typically leaned toward a BF Goodrich tire for projects, and was eyeing the newer T/A KO2 tires. However, the current size selection for 17" wheels doesn't really offer a KO2 option that would work with the DRW wheels.

I'd love suggestions for good tires that'll work well with the OEM wheels. Thanks in advance!

The OEM dually wheels I'll be using (yes, I have more wheels than what are shown in the photo :sombrero:).

This is roughly the stance I'm going for:

FC groupies all just died a little inside. I have a kidney if you ever want to trade for that red one you got back there! Lol

Coopers score high on this, and many other forums. I'm sure they have a tread pattern that will suit you!

Thanks Zeep. I'll look into the Coopers. A buddy was just considering a set of Cooper SST Pros for his XJ build (John_D on NAXJA and GreatLakes4x4).

Damn, those rims are narrow. Have you considered dropping the diameter a bit? LT255/75R17's are just so darn plentiful, and cheap. You might be able to score ten near new Rubicon take-off's for under $900.00.

Thanks Kmrtnsn. Yeah, I want taller, given the proportions of the vehicle. Also, the Rubicon tires you mentioned are Load Range C, and I'll probably need Es (I have the same tires on my 2014 JK Willys Wheeler). Around here, take-offs typically sell for high $$$ (usually rims and tires as a package).

I recently purchased a set of 5 Cooper discoverer s/t's. They set me back just over $1200. The difference they made in the handling of my LJR, is nothing short of remarkable.
The stock G/Y MTR's should never have come standard on a Wrangler.
