hi.as some of you may know, custom exhaust is making larger fuel tanks for the 2nd jen tacoma. they have now made 10 and are ready to be able to ship to you the tank and every thing you need to install it your self. shop price installed was 3,000.00 from their shop less shipping is 2,500.00
if we can get 5 people we can get that down to 2,150.00. pm me if you think this is something you want to do. here is a link to the thread with pictures and the starting of the 1st one

WOW! that is a hefty chunk of change..... too much for me. :(
Will it still be made out of steel plate?

When did you get a Second Generation Tacoma? What happened to your red truck?

Cost of materials and fabrication and made in the USA... I don't think that's too out of line.

ARB Longranger for 05+ Tacoma

Didn't I see a picture from SEMA showing an ARB LongRanger auxiliary fuel tank on the 05+ Tacoma?

Link doesnt work... And 2500 is WAY too much. I worked in a fab shop for a while, I could have something like this built for $1k less, or build it myself for $2k less. 35gal aux tank get two thumbs up, price gets four thumbs down.

You get what you pay for

These are PLUG and PLAY and work with your ecm/emissions gear. I have not seen another replacement tank that for any modern Toyota that can match that. Until someone else comes out with a competitive tank the price is going to be high. But a 14 gauge steel tank, powder coating, aluminum skid plate, good welders and a lot of R&D is what you are buying.

FYI they are not 35gallon tanks they are 42gallon.

Lets see..2500-$2k less = $500. You couldn't buy the materials for that! Add in shop time, consumables, a percentage of the R&D on the initial units plus a reasonable profit and $2500 doesn't seem out of line. If you had enough demand you could at X units lower the price, I don't know about others but I don't work for free.
Cheers
