37 Spare Tire In Excursion

Has anyone managed to do this? It is a sticking point for me with picking suspension/tire sizes. I don’t want to go swing outs...

Trophy Hitch from Carli advertises 37”-38” spare in factory location for ‘17+, but in the description it says the 2011-16 fit fine.

You don’t specify your year but I think excursions ended in 06? Either way the information I provided doesn’t specifically pertain to you, but I would think it helps give hope that it’s possible.

Excursion is an 05 , but I think they’re all the same.

Excursion - King of SUVs - "Remove for larger size spare tire..." Done... Now what? - Those of you running the larger 275/65R20 tires off of a newer SuperDuty, where are you stashing your spare tire? Even with the insert removed, I think I have an extra 2 or so inches of diameter where it won't...

It doesn't "fit", but it "fits". Take a look at the link for some pictures from people who have done it.

I looked up the exact thing recently so I knew where to look. I only have 35's but same concept.

I have a 37" spare in the factory location. I did remove the trim in the corner and then took air out of the tire to wedge it in place. I also do not want a swing out, and while it may not be super pretty, it works.

Here's my 35 (295/65-20) - barely fits. Most 35s and 37s are much wider.
