3rd Gen Tacoma suspension option for a heavy full time load

The BP51 kit was supposed to be delivered today, however the delivery guy turned up with a V8 crate engine instead! I guess someone crossed a tracking number along the way, and I ended up with someone's new engine, and they are wondering if BP51's would add an extra 50 HP to their Camaro. I did think it was a little odd when the tracking info had my shocks weighing 500lbs. I hope the freight company can get it sorted soon.

Depending on the crate engine that might not be a bad trade if it's something like an ls7. If its a basic old 350, the guy that got you shocks may not say anything.

Hey Rando,

Your going to love your setup. I know I'm late to this thread but I still wanted to share what I have. I have a 4" BDS Lift on my Tacoma with Bilstein shocks. To help with the weight from the camper I'm also using ride rite bags. I've even been on some decent trails with this and it worked great.

Hello,
I have built a Tacoma & built a Tundra. Both had Phoenix Pop up Campers. The Tacoma had a 6” lift Pro-Comp lift/ Coil over's with little adjustment built in and no remote reservoirs Etc., custom rear springs with air bags & daystar mod.

The Tundra had the same and worked even better with custom Radflow coil overs and shocks with remote reservoirs. What I have learned is a good spring shop given your weight & your hauling will nail the spring rate on a custom spring pack but the shocks that work with it need to be adjustable to fine tune the ride to get it just right. My 2 cents.
