So today I made a friend.

A guy came by my house to pick up some stuff that I was selling on craigslist, seemed like a cool dude so we started talking about cars, then offroading, then Mitsubishis then....

Well it turns out he works the parts counter at M&S Auto Dismantler and has been for the last 10 years. M&S is one of the biggest if not THE biggest Mitsubishi dismantlers in the country.

I asked him if he could hook me up with some 4.9s R&Ps. I told them that I knew they have some because Ive been calling and checking up on it for the last years or so. He said he will give me deal and to contact him personally next time I call or go there.

Im pretty sure Ill be picking up a set. Anyone else want in?

They have some things, every now and then they post up on 4x4Wire. Something normally happens for them to stop supporting hobbyists. Made some sales easier for me when the parts business was good.

I'm interested...I know of the company too, I've seen their listings while part hunting in the past.

Any idea on price? I've been holding out for pick your part because an r&p is $60 ($30 on sale weekends)!

Maybe I could make a trip out of it...do you have the space to do the install there? :)

Ive been looking out for PickNPull's inventory for a while. But a right year Montero Sport XLS with a 3.5L and 4x4 is almost impossible to find. I will find out what the pricing is. Last time I spoke to them best price they gave me was $600 which is still not bad for a regear in comparison to a LC80 and other trucks.

The XS is 3.5 4x4 I think they all come with 4.9 not 100% sure though.

Just be sure to check the pinion location. I don't recall the specifics but some are high and some are low pinion dif's.

Would anyone be interested in 5.29's out of a 2.5 tdi pajero? I could maybe get a few and ship the whole lot to the US at once

James, Yes if it has the large 9.5" rear end...

Dmitry, I've had good luck with M&S supporting me in the past on several occassions with my old blue 1990 4-door Montero that's now at Russells place (rhinhed).

First attempt at doing the con resulted in a broken trailing arm which resulting in needing a new trailing arm, driveshaft, and transfercase tailshaft housing. M&S helped me out with reduced pricing on the parts I needed. Here's the write-up I did of the events... http://www.geocities.ws/offroader_ii/Trips_Rubicon_08_01.html

A few years later that rear end eventually died splitting in half where the axle housing goes into the diff housing also breaking the axle. M&S again sold me an entire rear end at a very reduced cost. Here's the 'trip report' that was mostly pictures but when montypics.com's servers crashed, so did all the links to all the pictures. http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showf...erra+off-roader&topic=&Search=true#Post353426
