Hello Everyone

In the next few month I'll be selling my mini-camper (based on the 1999 4Runner Limited).

Idea behind this camper was to be able to camp anywhere (back-country or in a middle of a city) without anyone knowing someone sleeps inside.

I have not done the research on the price yet - at this point I just want to see if there is any interest in the truck at all...

Vehicle facts:
  • 1999 Toyota 4Runner Limited
  • V6, Automatic, 4wd
  • factory rear differencial locker (YES, it took me a while to find this truck!)
  • I'm the 2nd owner, bought the truck about 2 years ago @ 138K
  • Odo: 178K
  • timing belt done at 100K miles
  • pure synthetic oil
  • All maintenance/repair records (starting from car's day1) are available and will be transferred over to the buyer.
  • 20 mpg loaded on the hw / 16 mpg in the city
  • Currently running summer tires r16 - older worn-out BFG ATs will be included

Upgrades:
  • Rear differential breather extended to the frame level
  • 2.5" rear lift - OME 891 rear coils /heavy duty towing grade/
  • longer rear shocks from 2007 FJ Cruiser (bolt-on fit)
  • heavy duty lockable bike carrier
  • custom made 2" hitch "elbow" to raise the bike carrier to improve departure angle

Expedition upgrades:

Known Problems:
  • Sunroof doesn't move (no leaks)
  • rear right window gets stuck occasionally
  • little oil leak in the rear axle
  • driver side head lamp has a 1mm hole (sealed with clear plastic, passed inspection with it)
  • rust on the frame (nothing structural)
  • in-dash clock not working (I have a same size digital clock hanging over on velcro)
  • 1/4 inch rip in the driver seat
  • lumbar support switch in the driver seat does not work

Recent Repairs:
  • Stabilizer bar links (2)
  • All New coils/injectors 5000 miles ago
  • Front rotors/pads

Other Facts:
  • Current Location: Vermont / New Jersey
  • Registered in Vermont, registration paid till March 2014 (if you'll be keeping it in Vermont)
  • Reason for sale: need a car with 3 seats
  • Truck came from CT (Hartfort area)

Safe travels,
Aleks

4Runner

Nice truck. I would be interested once you set a price. I am looking at an alternative to my Isuzu Trooper for a planned trip to Central America.

Regards,
Michael
