4Runner limited, should I run 16s or 17s??

I traded my Fj in last week for an 07 4Runner limited.

I already invested in 16" TRDs..but the 4Runner Limited's come with larger brakes. 16s don't fit.

Does anyone know if I go with 285/70/17s, will I have rubbing and need spacers?

I did the sam...sold my fj and got an 08 4runner SR5. Much like the fj the whole rubbing issue depends on the wheels you choose. Btw you'll love the 4 real doors and visibility. Nothing really is lost in offroad capabilities too.

Your forum name looks familiar.

I am loving the 4runner for the reasons you mentioned. We have 2 small children and my son goes with me often to the Utah desert. NOW he can see the wonders of that area.

What are you doing for wheels? The SR5 has the smaller breaks, right?

I think the consensus is to go with 17" if you have a limited or sport due to the larger brakes. Lots of specific info on toyota120.com on the topic, I think there is somebody there that actually shaved down their brakes.
