What kind of gas milage do you get with this?
From what i know of this engine, terrible mileage!
my friend bought one for his tow company so similar weight i would think and got something like 8 mpg!
Also Ford dropped this engine after a very short time, not sure if it was related to fuel economy or not but i don’t think it was reliability issues as i think they corrected them after the 6.0 disaster!

Since I don't want others to be confused about your last sentence, you can Google "Ford 6.4L diesel problems" to get the pros/cons.
PS--the 6.0L is extremely reliable once you fully "bulletproof" it.

I agree about bullet proofing, but why spend thousands and thousands to correct design flaws when you can buy a Cummins and avoid all the hastle?
Fummins? Lol

If you find a Ford you like better than a Dodge/RAM, that would be one reason. ;)
Nothing against Cummins, they're great. But Ford's can be great too. To each their own.

I never said Dodge/Ram, i said Cummins, then Fummins. I would swap the 6.0 for a Cummins in other words, not bother with bullet proofing it. I don’t like the injection design either. 12 valve Cummins is dirt simple, good on fuel and can make a bunch of hp for free!

So you like lots of rattling then. <poke poke> ;)

All in support of a proper swap, like a 4th gen 6.7L as MG at ExpoVans did here with an Allison tranny too; https://expovans.com/conversions/e-series/

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH: if you look at my photo, i have some experience with Ambo campers. Mine is a 7.3l diesel (considered to be the holy grail) and yet it was factory replaced ten years ago at 90k and now with only 20 k on the replacement, it leaks all over... My current build (not going to link, i don't want to hijack) is a 2008 Ford with the much hated 6.4l diesel. Its currently dead with a blown motor (15-20k to replace) --> (10-12k to Fummins) and im SCREWED. the 6.4 can be wonderful and very powerful when it works, but the general consensus is to RUN, not walk AWAY. To confuse even more, i had a 2009 6.4 F550 and put 112,000 happy, trouble free miles on it with proper maintenance.

** The point here is that EVERY rugged camper be it a UNIMOG, ambo, or retired MIL vehicle has or can have big issues. Why i choose a ford is simple. You can fix it anywhere and most techs can work on them, plus a national support and parts ability. If this truck runs well now, its probably one of the good ones. If not, you can fix or replace the driveline. Remember, you are paying for the 4x4, winter proof body more than anything. GLWS and whoever gets it, will love their toy. Make plans on how you'll use it, not on how you'll fix it! let it break first lol.
