Hi Guys,

That sad day has come when i have to start trying to sell my van.
I am about to complete a trip from South Africa to the UK and would like to sell my van when I get to the UK

The vehicle is Malawi registered and will have 130,000 miles on the clock when it gets to the UK next month.
It has a EU green card which will be easily renewed so it would be possible for a UK owner to drive it legally in the UK...and not have to worry much about fines.
It is also on a South African Carnet du Passage with Egypt included, which can be transferred into the new owners name if needs be.
It also had a new transfer box and injectors fitted in South Africa before I departed at approx 95,000 mi
the 2004 311CDI delt with 500ppm diesel.

Loads of extras; Winch, custom bull bar, 135 watt solar panel, porta pottie, gas stove, heavy duty drawer system, double bed, 80l water tanks, 40l extra undercarriage tank, 2 X 25l Diesel Jerry cans, 16 Inch Led Light bar, Heater, BFG all terrain tyres, awning, heater, diff lock, 2 deep cycle batteries 100 a/h, 2 gas bottles, 72l double door national lunar fridge/freezer, double bed, high volume air compressor.
Spares; 2X ball joints, top and bottom radiator hose, CV joint, fan belt, front wheel bearing.
Recovery equipment. shackles, 20m 20,000lbs tow rope, 5m 3t tow rope, shackles and pully, comprehensive tool kit.
Some cosmetic battle damage from the trip, easily repaired or ignored.
Vehicle will be back in UK 22 Feb
Vehicle was imported into Malawi from the UK thus up to spec in the UK

I am looking for GBP 15,000/ EUR 20,000 for the vehicle as described.

It could be shipped to the states of course, just not legally registered here as Mercedes did not import that model at that time here.
Now....does that mean that your local state will notice that THIS Sprinter is different than other Sprinters they have registered, no idea.
However you also need insurance and that means having hope that ANOTHER person doens't realize it is illegal.
Then if you do get in an accident they can still say no even if you have been paying for insurance all along.

The other option would be to figure out how to register it under a foreign person/biz and keep those cool plates on the rig...then leave the USA once a year and re-import
