And MTdew, I've see alot of the deals that pop up in he east/ south east too far for sure, check out some of the west coast Craigslist / cargo van dealers, many of em ( 7.3 & resonable milage in seemingly good shape)in southern Cali and houston area that fit your bill, I just have yet to pull the trigger.

If you can stretch you budget another 2k, this looks like the hot ticket:

I am in talks with this link out in Maine. so we shall see.

I have found some good options in cali. but keep getting other idea's that keep me from pulling the trigger. this one seems well build as stuff I would have done to mine. this just give me a head start. its going to the dealer to get checked out and that will be the deciding factor.
stocked to say the least. as then I will get to test drive it 2500 miles back home. never been that far east so it will be cool to see somethings and placed I have never been to. if I end up getting the rig. just hesitant of the high miles. but if its been rebuild 50k ago I think it will be good.

we shall see

I picked up a 'Ford IDI cargo van (hightop, a medical bloodmobile) with the 7.3 engine - very clean for 3,000.00 in AZ. I will be building it up slowly but very happy with this N/A diesel and the price of parts versus PS. Was tempted to finance a Sportsmobile but now is not the time folks and I love the choice of different fuel types when push comes to shove. Gassers only run on one fuel type. i will most likely buy Ikea stuff and cut/modify for cabinets but will do a very thorough job insulating in advance - van already has a very large inverter, heat, etc. - wish it were a poptop though -
