5.4 BLOWING SPARK PLUGS....

So we have 4 work vans- two transits and two 2011 E350 box trucks. We have blown a total of 3 or 4 plugs out of the heads on the 5.4 motors. Always the same story they have to helicoil the threads for the fix... I'm wondering is there a permanent fix for this or will it continue?

Heli-coil is the least invasive thread repair, time-sert is the next least invasive, when a time-sert fails you then have keen sert's and then big-sert's

I have installed time serts after a heli-coil has pulled.

If the plugs are still coming out they're being installed incorrectly Ford fixed the problem Years Ago by adding more threads to the Head. Are you sure it's an original motor from 2011?

these are stock trucks we bought new, so straight from the factory and Ford wouldn't even stand behind them when this happened.. usually the rear banks blow.. both trucks 2011's the last time this happened the shop that repaired it replaced all the stock plugs... so we'll see how that turns out..
