600,000 mile F-250

Still looks to be in pretty good shape for the mileage. If the intended use was to pull 5th wheels back and forth from Canada and the U.S. all it's life, I'm curious as to why the previous owner / company wouldn't have purchased an F-350?

Average 5'er guy, doesn't put that much thought into the truck.

It's possible that the F350 simply doesn't fit under the nose of the 5'er. The 250 is 2" lower. Most 5th wheels are made for 2wd chevys. IMO, I'd rather raise the floor in the bed room 8", and have plenty of truck clearance. But you know, 5' men, need 2' of head room.

Up until 2017. F350's have a 4"-ish block on the rear axle. F250's have a 2". Then there's the 3/8" thickness of any added spring leafs. My 2008 F250 was only 1" above level in the rear.

2017+ the F350 and 250 are the same height, give or take the thickness of extra springs. 250's have 2 leafs usually, 350's have 3. Chassis cabs have all kinds of oddities.

Ive got 5 on my 2017 f350 single wheel if you count all of them. Doesnt yours have 4?

3 total. Should be the softest/weakest spring offered on the rear of the Superduty. I specifically searched for such, hopefully it'll help me avoid Deavers. So far, it rides very nice with just 1000# in the bed. A 2000# camper should be heaven. Might even need to add spring if I'm lucky. Sumo Rebels, or air bags and cups.

The short bottom one is just an extreme overload spring that does nothing. So it's considered 2, if you order a lift kit that asks. BDS is nice enough to actually offer a picture of each, during the ordering process to keep things smooth. If I would have ordered the max haul package, it would have gave me the 350's 3 main springs, and single overload under the spring.

I'm guessing the 5 leaf pack is another level upgrade, or a running change I don't know about.

My chassis cab F350 has 7 springs total. 6 under the axle, and a huge overload spring on top of the axle, that has no effect on ride ht unloaded. (also in full contact with the frame pads, bummer)

I did also consider that if I found the right 350, or a max'd 250, that I could simply just remove the springs that I didn't need. But for all of that effort, the extra $1500 for Deavers made sense at that point.
