7/16 Viking synthetic rope.

I have been looking around at some Viking winch cable and found it for $359 with hook. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the site listed below.

I bought mine (200 feet of 1/2" Amsteel Blue (Dyneema SK-75) ) from a marine shop for $2.79/ foot, and put ends on myself. It's cheaper, easy, and good practice if you ever have to splice in the field.

From the same marine shop, 7/16" line is $1.95/foot, add a hook, some anti-abrashion covering for the drum end and a bit for the hook end, and your set. Then you can get any hook you want, and any length you please.

Now I support the 4x4 shops as much as I can, but the Marine places buy this stuff by the hundreds of spools, so they can offer it so much cheaper, and I can put those savings into other products from the same 4x4 shop (other recovery gear, etc)

I bought a 50' extension line from Custom Splice this summer. I got a shipping notice an hour after I placed the order and it arrived a few days later. I'd order from them again in a heartbeat.
