7 Pin Trailer Light / Power

Can someone confirm please that it is possible to install a 7 pin trailer light controller on the Gen 2.5? I have a 4 pin but I know nothing about 7 pin kits.

I am looking at pulling a small camper that needs brake power.

It shouldn't be an issue. I have a 7-pin on my Gen 3. It only adds a power (I wired direct to battery - fused) and brake controller. I skipped the reverse lights, my trailer doesn't have them.

You didn't mention it, but you will need a brake controller. I have a Tekonsha, don't remember the model. It works great.

I’m borrowing a wireless unit so no brake controller needed.
Thanks for the reply, this confirmed what my thoughts were. I’m doing a 12ga with a 20a fuse at the battery. This is a one time rental so the power wire running back to the rear will be zip tied temporary style.
