Looks like an aussie spec HDJ79 made from 98-07, I think it has the 1HD FTE engine as it appears to have a 4200TD sticker on the rear pillar

You could probably 'settle' for a 75 series in a few months. I think the 1985 model began production in sept 84

78 Series (Troopcarrier) and 79 Series (Cab Chassis/Ute/etc.) were released in 1999.

It was the 75 Series before that.

That truck is Chris's from Campa Trailers. It is the same truck that was on the 2 year long flyfishing trip.
It is now Chris's daily driver. It was specifically ordered from Japan for the trip and delivered to New Zealand. It has an upgraded transmission and transfercase.

RHD, manual of course. Extra Toyota fuel tank and an aftermarket one giving it 70 gallons of total fuel.

Oh yah, and its an 1981 if I remember right. :costumed-smiley-007

That is a very nice 70 series. Chris and Annie camped next to our display at the Expo, and I had a chance to admire his truck and trailer all weekend.

The truck is licensed in Ohio.

No,its more like 2023 by the 25yo law
7* series started in 1984 in Nov ,so there weren't many made that year and they were all 75 series
