80 rear sliding windows sticking

One thing I really enjoy about the 80 is the sliding rear windows. Mine are binding and becomming difficult to open and close easily. It seems the glass is framed in rubber. Do you know of a lube or other treatment to ease the operation?

I would be interested in any type of lube as well. I cleaned mine out really well with compressed air and a small screw driver and it helped but still not totally "free". There was a lot of gunk in the slides for sure.

Most of the dirt and debris is out and they work much better but there has to be something else....

You might want to try a little graphite lubricant in the window channel. We use it in northern climates to keep things like locks from freezing. It sprays in liquid form (small nozzle like WD-40) and the solvent quickly evaporates. It cleans up fairly easy and does not attract dirt since it is a dry lube.

Here is an example (I'm sure there are other options at the local hardware store:

Just an idea.
