1984 VW Vanagon
1.9L engine, auto trans

Conversion to camper by Adventurewagen
asking $3800

I met Ed Anderson, creator of the Adventurewagen campers, at his workshop in Mendocino CA around 1995. I was very impressed with the quality of his work. The fiberglass raised roof is insulated, the woodwork inside is teak, the layout of the camper is very convenient.

I have owned a couple of AWs, and they are THE BOMB. Very very well thought out and executed. $3800 is cheap, usually, for an A-wagen that has much life left in it.

It says it has a water cooled engine.
Is it a flat 4 similar to air cooled engines?
I'll guess that the 1.9L is a wasserboxer. Think liquid cooled T4.
Though there was an IDI diesel of 1.9L displacement made as well. However, '84 is a bit early for one those to be original.

My 1st AW was a 1981 Vanagon with a factory 1.6 liter diesel. Can you say S.....L.....O.....W ? Rated at 48 horsepower. :Wow1: Man I loved that thing.
